Governor DeSantis's wife took the stage to deliver a speech, presumably on a topic close to her heart — their three-year-old child. Admittedly, it was dull and she should fire her speechwriter. But hubby Ron should have at least pretended to care about what she was saying. Instead, the mean-spirited Presidential candidate failed to exhibit even a hint of interest.
Rather than lending a supportive presence at the side of his wife, DeSantis looked as if he'd rather be anywhere else. Standing on the extreme side of the stage, his body language revealed boredom, annoyance, and a general disconnection from the words being spoken. As he fidgeted, not seeming to know what to do with his hands, you could almost hear him thinking, "Get me the hell out of here."
Nevertheless, one can only wonder if the seeming boredom on his part is simply an indication of a man who lives for power and spectacle, someone who thrives on the adrenaline rush of cruel political stunts. Or perhaps he's just a man trapped in a situation of his own making.

Optics are always a very big part of one of those.
An argument can be made, and was made by Alexander Hamilton, that public and private virtue are two separate things. In Trump’s case his recent behavior strips him of any plausible claim to either form of virtue.

The only reason this poster does things like this, is to disrupt this forum and distract people from realizing how bad desantis really is.
The poster I was debating with brought up foreign policy, so I dropped that new bomb on him. And when people try to create new threads containing negative Trump information, they sometimes get deleted, so sometimes posting it during a debate is the only way for information to get out.
Clearly you’d like to try to keep this board locked down, and the Trump supporters treated like mushrooms, but the freedoms of thought and speech have a way of finding their course.

By utilizing a utilitarian philosophy to evaluate Trump: it’s not what he says, or who he is, or what he has done in the past; rather, it is what positive consequences would result from electing him. That’s how I deal with it, anyway.
