A) The mercenary Prigozhin has been paid handsomely by Western governments. Hey, that’s the mercenary biz.

B) If Prigozhin and his men were/are being targeted by regular troops, he may think that his only option is to stake everything on a coup.

C) Prigozhin has allies in high places in the Kremlin, and this is all part of a coordinated revolution.

Or a combo thereof.

Thus, their sponsorship must have been going on during the most recent battles which killed 70,000 Ukes? Hardly.

I think there’s a very high probability of that being true. The danger in this, of course, is Putin leveraging this accusation to his advantage and thus claiming that the west is financing this revolt.
