Conservatives go to red states and liberals go to blue as the country grows more polarized

Once he and his wife, Jennifer, moved to a Boise suburb last year, Tim Kohl could finally express himself.

Kohl did what the couple never dared at their previous house outside Los Angeles — the newly-retired Los Angeles police officer flew a U.S. flag and a Thin Blue Line banner representing law enforcement outside his house.

“We were scared to put it up,” Jennifer Kohl acknowledged. But the Kohls knew they had moved to the right place when neighbors complimented him on the display.

Leah Dean is on the opposite end of the political spectrum, but she knows how the Kohls feel. In Texas, Dean had been scared to fly an abortion rights banner outside her house. Around the time the Kohls were house-hunting in Idaho, she and her partner found a place in Denver, where their LGBTQ+ pride flag flies above the banner in front of their house that proclaims “Abortion access is a community responsibility.”

“One thing we have really found is a place to feel comfortable being ourselves,” Dean said.

A United States flag vs. a pride flag. That says it all.

This country desperately needs a national divorce. It has no unifying purpose or identity. As such, it no longer is a “nation.” Hell, if we were hit by another 9/11, the liberal half would be cheering on the terrorists.

Similar to the large scale movements of people in Bosnia...just before their civil war started.

Primarily, we can thank Soros and the DNC for this, although the GOPe has their share of guilt too.

What do you do about Upstate New York? Or Illinois outside the Cook County?

Conservatives from Blue states like CA, seem to vote for more “services” as in property tax bonds etc. When they move up here in Northern Idaho, often bonds that have failed previously are passed as the population grows. There are some that actually move to avoid the constant attack on their values and wallet though. People and government have seem to forgot the idea to budget. Cut costs in some areas to spend more in others, and fix/repair buildings instead of building new ones or doing additions.

What unifies a country is shared values. We have next to nothing in common with the left.

They hate us, we hate them, let’s end this dysfunctional marriage.

In the good ol days people hid their sexual perversions in the closet and didnt publicize it with a banner on their lawns. Now even the police ignore outright felony law perversions like flashing your junk at kids during dragfag parades.

Depending on where the 'terrorists' hit, I might cheer them on also.

While I understand it is a time-honored tradition at FR not to, you know, actually read the articles, myself included, but if anyone clicked on the AP link to this story they would have seen this at the bottom of the article:

The Associated Press receives support from several private foundations to enhance its explanatory coverage of elections and democracy. See more about AP’s democracy initiative here. The AP is solely responsible for all content.

One of the donors to AP is of course big pharma, specifically Eli Lilly. All the other "donors" to AP are left-wing foundations who express at their individual websites how they are trying to steer US elections to Democrats. Of course they use every euphemism to try and cover this, but it is very clear nonetheless. Obviously most knew about AP's intrinsic bias, but now AP admits that they are funded by the far left. I had never previously seen the AP admit to this.

9/11 briefly brought some reality and sanity to a bunch of wannabe commies.

Remember?

Sadly, within 6 months that atrocity wasn’t enough to shock them into logic. Apparently we have to have several large Moslem or Other atrocities in a row for these bastards to ever get it.

Instead, they went full tilt into loving and welcoming Moslems in, and condemning anyone who brought it up.

The people of the nation are self-sorting as the chasm between the two becomes wider and deeper on just about every major (and minor) issue. A culture that supports the murder, abuse, and mutilation of children cannot peacefully co-exist with a culture that is working to stop such actions. That evil culture will work to attack anyone who tries to stop their child-sacrifices and they don’t mind using violence to do so.

Many were in 2001. I heard many high placed Democrats say about the attacks: No wonder they hate us”. They were on the side of the terrorists.

Fine by me. As a conservative in OR I never would’ve put a bumper sticker on my car with a conservative sentiment. Now I’m happily in Idaho. Let the lefties go to the places they feel at home. They’ll ruin it in no time.
