A federal judge ordered all the attorneys involved in former President Donald Trump's classified documents case to move forward with the process to get security clearance.
U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon told all the attorneys to "complete all outstanding applicant tasks required to obtain the requisite security clearances in this matter" by July 13.
Cannon, who was appointed by Trump, previously ordered all the attorneys to begin the process by reporting to the Litigation Security Group of the Department of Justice.
Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 counts that allege he kept sensitive military documents, shared them with people who didn't have security clearance, and tried to get around the government's efforts to get them back. He is charged with 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information along with conspiracy to obstruct justice, withholding a document or record, corruptly concealing a document or record, concealing a document in a federal investigation, scheme to conceal and false statements and representations.

Yet another contrived stumbling block meant to postpone or prevent a state of readiness for the defense.
Well, once they get clearances, their billing rate and future client prospects will go up. Though losing Trump’s case might not be good for their careers.
I’m sure it’s a ploy to favor the deep state.. like more milage and closer to nov. ‘24
Hunter has one. Get one like that.
This is denying Trump the right to counsel of his choice.
Depending on the amount of past foreign travel, a top-secret background investigation can take 6 or more months - higher clearances may take longer. Does anyone find it odd that no elected officials need to pass any background checks?
no elected officials need to pass any background checks?

Voters said okay so no further checks needed.
When you get your security clearance, if you then reveal the contents of a classified document, I think you are subject to vastly increased penalties. I think this new requirement is to ensure the lawyers can’t talk about any of the evidence to the press.
What lawyer hasn’t got something to hide from a security clearance backround check?
Good luck finding one cleaner than Caesar’s wife.
This will scare off anyone with anything to hide who doesn’t want their dirty laundry aired for all to see.
Yeah, to get security clearance from the very entity that is attempting this rogue prosecution.
Everything at Mar A Lago was declassified and no clearance should be needed to see it. Period
Pathetic joke. Even so, maybe they shoulda done this months ago. Meanwhile, everyone and their Keystone Cops brothers have been fussing through dozens of unsecured boxes.
Voters said okay so no further checks needed.

But when a voter wants to challenge one of the SOBs in court, the courts say the voter lacks ‘standing.’ The mother of all Gordian knots.
And who OK’s the security clearances? The same government officials who are prosecuting the defendant. Wonder what they will do?????
Clearances take months, sometimes over a year to get.
And what if his lawyer can’t get one?
Not necessarily. This may be a good thing for Trump. Now the DOJ can’t hide anything in discovery by claiming it’s “classified”. They’ll have to show it to Trump’s attorneys once they get the TS-SCI.
This is old news .
Cannon a Trump judge ordered this .
The Pentagon files were highly classified and
she was startled by these Pentagon files .
These classified should not have been left in a FL Resort left open to the Public.
Trump former WH Cook/ Valet had no business moving these files.
Will the jury also need to do this? If I can’t see what the Gov Lawyers are claiming is so sensitive as a juror, I am acquitting.
Considering the materials were declassified as soon as Trump took possession of them, there is no need for anyone to have a security clearance. Cannon is not giving off good vibes in this case.
First Mr. Off is prosecuting Trump aides and staff to get them t9o tutrn states evidence,
he calls Trumps attorneys to testify making them witnesses so they have to resign representing Trump,
and now Mr. Off insists that the lawyers for Trump get security clearance so as to get them knocked off the case for failure to obtain security clearance.
Mr. Off indicted TRump knowing that ALL of the documents he was going to use would have to be declassified. Now he is trying to keep the public from seeing theevodence he does noty have?
I’d say Mr. Off has no case.
Or he would not be committing these acts of prosecutorial misconduct.
Mr. Off is fishing for a case as he g0es along. This is a case that could be summarily dismissed.
