While pundits, politicians and the press have long expressed outrage over attacks on judges by former President Donald Trump, many are now attacking any judge who delays any trial of Trump before the election. Democrats have accused Judge Aileen Cannon of being politically compromised, if not conspiratorial, in her delay of the Florida trial over the mishandling of classified documents. Yet, there is ample reason for the delay that many of us anticipated in this type of case when it was filed. For months, many of us have said that we doubt that this type of trial could be held on...

VIDEOFederal Judge Aileen Cannon in Florida indefinitely DELAYED the Mar-a-Lago documents trial. As expected liberal tears flowed including from the usual suspects such as MSNBC's Glenn Kirschner. Oh, and a word of advice to liberals whining about the delay of that trial, please don't use the STAGED photo by the FBI showing documents strewn all over the floor. Jack Smith already admitted to the evidence tampering that will probably lead to that case being tossed when or if it ever goes to trial.

It comes after prosecutors wrote that the order of items within a box was ‘not the same’ as digital photographs of materials raided from Mar-a-Lago by the FBI.Former President Donald Trump argued that special counsel Jack Smith’s classified documents case against him should be tossed after prosecutors wrote that they misled a judge about the order of items in an evidence box.In a post on Truth Social over the weekend, President Trump called for the arrest of Jack Smith and argued that the case should be thrown out based on the new court filing. It came after Mr. Smith’s team wrote...

Legal analysts are accusing Judge Aileen Cannon of pro-Donald Trump bias after indefinitely suspending his classified documents case. Cannon, a Trump appointee, indefinitely postponed the trial on Tuesday, citing legal disputes around classified evidence. Cannon said there were eight outstanding substantive pending motions for her to rule on and predicted this will take until at least late July. It is unknown whether the case will begin before the November 2024 presidential election. If elected, Trump has a number of options to kill the trial, including pardoning himself or appointing a favorable attorney general to drop the charges. Cannon is overseeing...

Petitions calling for the removal of Judge Aileen Cannon from Donald Trump's classified documents case have now amassed more than 300,000 signatures. Cannon, a Trump-appointed U.S. district court judge, is facing calls to recuse herself from the former president's classified documents case over concerns regarding her impartiality. Trump is facing dozens of criminal charges related to claims that he kept classified material at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida after leaving the White House and then obstructed authorities' efforts to retrieve them. He has pleaded not guilty to all counts. Newsweek has found six petitions calling for Cannon's removal from the...

Judge Aileen Cannon unsealed an unredacted version of the FBI’s affidavit used to obtain a Mar-a-Lago search warrant. In August 2022 the Biden Justice Department released a highly redacted Trump raid affidavit. Media organizations asked to unseal the affidavit in support of the search warrant. Only a redacted version was previously unsealed. Last year Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart approved new aspects of the Trump Mar-a-Lago search warrant to be unsealed, however “the government agreed that a redacted version of the Response could be unsealed without compromising legitimate governmental interests,” Bruce Reinhart wrote in his order on motion to unseal. The...

Judge Aileen Cannon on Monday ordered key evidence in Jack Smith’s classified documents case to be unredacted. The newly unredacted documents revealed Biden’s White House had direct ties to the Mar-a-Lago raid. The Biden Regime was also directly tied to Jack Smith’s investigation despite claims to the contrary from US Attorney General Merrick Garland. Before with redactions: Jack Smith wanted to hide the fact that the National Archives had several conversations with the Biden White House.

Poor little Jack Smith—out of nowhere, a judge in Trump’s “classified documents” case fails to rubber stamp the prosecution’s unethical motions, and essentially declare Trump guilty before a trial even takes place. Judge Aileen Cannon correctly ruled that a jury should be able to contemplate the validity of Trump’s Presidential Records Act defense—but Jack Smith doesn’t want the jury to hear that because it is inconvenient to his case. Here’s this, from Politico:Tensions flare between special counsel Jack Smith and Judge Aileen CannonAmid delays and uncertainty over Donald Trump’s classified documents case, a strained dynamic between his prosecutor and his...

Criticism of the judge overseeing former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case lacks a legal justification, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.Judge Aileen Cannon, who was appointed to the bench by Trump in 2020, has repeatedly come under fire by liberal commentators and legal analysts for decisions seen as favoring the former president and intentionally slow-walking the case. But legal experts who spoke with the DCNF said she’s simply being fair and following normal procedure.“Most of the partisan, left-wing criticism against Judge Cannon is not grounded in legal substance and instead is due to their personal dislike of the...

CNN — In perhaps prosecutors’ strongest rebuke yet to how Judge Aileen Cannon has handled the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump, special counsel Jack Smith said in court filings late Tuesday evening that the judge had ordered briefings based on a “fundamentally flawed” understanding of the case that has “no basis in law or fact.

Of all of the legal cases currently being piled up against Donald Trump in the Democrats' ongoing lawfare efforts against him, the one I've probably found the most troubling is the allegation of mishandling classified documents. It's a fairly serious charge and it's one of the few cases against him that does at least appear to involve the possibility of an actual crime being committed (more on that in a moment) and physical evidence to support the claim. It has thus far sounded as if the court was taking it seriously as well. But now, a possible ray of hope...

Florida State Attorney Dave Aronberg asserted on Tuesday that special counsel Jack Smith may resort to drastic measures to attempt to disqualify the judge in former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case. Judge Aileen Cannon is presiding over the case against Trump and on Monday ordered the former president and Smith to submit proposed jury instructions, which means the judge is focusing on a trial much earlier than anticipated, according to The Washington Post. The order benefits Trump and Smith will appeal it as well as potentially try to disqualify Cannon, Aronberg asserted on MSNBC’s “Jose Diaz-Balart Reports.” “My head...

“Novel legal theory,” a term applied in whole or part to every case, criminal and civil, lodged against Donald Trump. That term is best understood as using the law in ways it was never intended to be used, and/or never has been used, most specifically for political purposes. A "novel legal theory" might consist of applying a vicious dog ordinance to someone who owned only a parrot that could bark like a dog. During my police career, professional officers were careful never to use the law in that way. If there was a law on the books that had never...

The federal judge overseeing the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump put a damper on Special Counsel Jack Smith’s victory in his separate case in Washington D.C. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday shot down Trump’s bid to dismiss his federal election interference case based on presidential immunity. On the same day, District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, who is overseeing the other case against Trump in Florida, ruled that some discovery material that Smith wanted to keep under seal would be disclosed, reminding him “of the strong presumption of public access in criminal proceedings.” “Following an...

In a 14-page opinion and ruling today [SEE pdf HERE] four judges from the DC Circuit Court of Appeals deconstruct the previous ruling from their own court as well as the DC judge beneath them that gave Special Counsel Jack Smith access to President Trump Twitter account data and then enforced a non-disclosure order. There are multiple layers to this story, but the substantive part is the scheme and the construct of how the Lawfare took place. There’s no way this was coincidental; I’ll explain why. First, there are only 7 members on the full DC Circuit Court of Appeals....

On Friday, District Judge Aileen Cannon issued a new order in the Donald Trump classified documents case adding to the mountain of evidence that she is firmly in the former president’s pocket. Trump appointed Cannon in 2020 and the Senate confirmed her appointment in the days after he lost the 2020 election. It’s deeply offensive to the rule of law for judges to bend the law to benefit those who put them on the bench. Sadly, Cannon does just that.

Trump’s lawyers on Wednesday afternoon attended a hearing in Fort Pierce, Florida on whether Judge Cannon will agree to postpone the classified documents trial currently scheduled for May 2024.On Tuesday, Trump and his attorneys visited a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) to view classified material related to Jack Smith’s case ahead of Wednesday’s hearing, according to a leak to ABC News.Judge Aileen Cannon last month paused litigation in Jack Smith’s classified documents case as she decides whether to grant Trump’s motion to extend deadlines related to classified material.

After he was charged in June with mishandling national security papers, former president Donald Trump asked to be allowed to discuss classified evidence in the case right where he allegedly kept the documents: Mar-a-Lago, his Florida home and private club. On Wednesday, the federal judge overseeing the case appears to have told him no. U.S. District Court Judge Aileen M. Cannon issued a 16-page protective order granting prosecutors’ request for a set of rules about how classified information and documents should be handled in the case — rules that stick to the general practice of federal courts. Government lawyers had...
