Fox News Chief Political Analyst Brit Hume called former President Donald Trump a failed president on Monday.
Hume issued his condemnatory statement in response to a video from conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who suggested that people oppose Trump due to his success as president.
“If Trump was such a failed president, why are they doing everything they possibly can to prevent a second term of Trump?” said Kirk.
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe they don’t want a repeat of a failed presidency. Just guessing here,” responded Hume.

Hume is a very conventional person. Conventional people are establishment people. It hasn't occurred to Hume that the establishment has been co-opted by the Marxist Left. That would be something Hume, as a conventional person, could not comprehend. To Hume, enemies are foreign countries. They attack with their militaries. Whatever occurs inside America is due to the natural shifting of American sentiment and opinion and that makes it okay.
So, Hume disapproved of Trump's attacks on the establishment. In fact, Trump's attack on the establishment defined him as an enemy. And, given that the establishment is still standing, Trump is a failure.
Who cares about Brit when there are hundreds of better political analysts right here on FR?

Trump was one of the best Presidents of my lifetime.
He was actually turning America's decline around with his MAGA agenda, some thing I thought was impossible.
He exposed the people in power who are opposed to MAGA because because they have cast their lots and invested in the managed decline of America.
For them to win, America and Americans must lose.
Donald Trump wants America to win and if he succeeds, they will lose.
When you realize this, everything else makes perfect sense.

Yes, Hume is dumb as a post. I can’t stand to hear him ramble as he tries to string his thoughts into a coherent sentence. He fits right in at Fox.
You got that right, Capt. I am finding that disassociation from corporate news media much more serious. There’s an entire world full of analysis on YouTube and Rumble and almost always a citizen livestream of any major event showing much more than msm ever does.
Regarding Hume’s ambivalence on nearly all subjects political, I think it was Truman who, frustrated with experts and their ‘on the one hand this, on the other hand, that,’ said “can some one find me a one-armed economist.” A one-armed Hume would certainly have been an improvement, but that was asking too much of a born squish.
