The family of a 10-year-old Black boy who was arrested and placed in a cell for relieving himself in a parking lot say they will file a federal civil rights lawsuit against a Mississippi city unless police officers involved in the detention are fired.
Quantavious Eason was detained and taken to a police station in Senatobia after an officer spotted him urinating behind a car outside a law office last month while his mother was inside getting advice on a housing issue.

She leaves a minor in a public place to fend for himself which strikes me as child abuse and when he gets in trouble with the law, she is innocent and the law is guilty of racism. I might agree the law reacted too strongly but that depends on the kids and his mom's attitude when confronted by the police.

Ten-year olds should be able to fend for themselves in public. I was riding my bike all over town when I was ten. But, since she apparently brought him with her to ‘consult with a lawyer over a housing issue’ why didn’t she bring him inside? I’m sure the lawyer’s office had a waiting room and a bathroom.
The toilet might be in the middle of the office, but it’s there. (Better Call Saul). Perhaps mom knew better than to leave Lil Quatavious at home or to turn him lose in an office.
