NYT Columnist: ‘Decrepit-Seeming’ Joe Biden Is So Unpopular ‘He Could Easily Lose to Donald Trump
Breitbart ^ | 09/11/2023 | KRISTINA WONG

Posted on 09/11/2023 11:17:54 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

A New York Times columnist wrote in a recent piece that President Joe Biden is so unpopular he could “easily” lose to former President Donald Trump in 2024.

“Joe Biden is an unpopular president, and without some recovery, he could easily lose to Donald Trump in 2024,” Ross Douthat wrote in a September 9 piece. “[I]t’s been hard to distill a singular explanation for what’s kept his numbers lousy,” he added.

In the piece, titled, “Why is Joe Biden So Unpopular?” he cited potential reasons — persistent inflation and a far-left activist core of the Democrat Party pushing socially conservative minorities away — before settling on the issue of Biden’s age and lack of vigor.

He wrote:[M]aybe the big problem is just simmering anxiety about Biden’s age. Maybe his poll numbers dipped first in the Afghanistan crisis because it showcased the public absenteeism that often characterizes his presidency. Maybe some voters now just assume that a vote for Biden is a vote for the hapless Kamala Harris. Maybe there’s just a vigor premium in presidential campaigns that gives Trump an advantage.

Maybe they haven’t found those people who actually voted for Biden/Harris in the last election yet.

I think I read that article.
CBS anchor Margaret Brennan reporter asks Kamala; “Are you taking the threat of a second Trump Presidency seriously enough?” (stunned pause by Kamala) Who then responds:
“I don’t understand the question.”

It's NOT age it's brain rot.

There are people in their 50's who have Alzheimer's and dementia - does Ross Douthat know that? Should all people in their 50's be disqualified? Or just the Republicans?.

Bernie Sanders isn't 'too old' either is Trump. But Biden is...see how it's different based on individual humans?

To paint all senior Americans with the the broad brush of age hate is ageists... and it's unfair and wrong and a lie. That Ross Douthat is one sicko NYT Columnist.

Naw. The dead, swing-state Democrat Secretaries of State, and Dominion still support him unreservedly.

When you lose the NYT

Biden didn't "lose" the NYT. This particular NYT writer, Ross Douthat, is the NYT token "conservative" columnist (of the Bill Kristol type—who Douthat replaced at The Times).

He's a NeverTrumper, one of the original DeSantites, but now favoring Tim Scott.

Yes, clueless.

When you lose the NYT . . .

We'll Douthat isn't exactly the NYT. He's a conservative they allow to hang out there to make fun of liberals. He is being deadpan sarcastic here.

I know it seems very off-pattern that the NYT lets someone as good as he is score touchdowns against its so-called ideas, but I take the opportunity to see socialists get flattened anywhere I can.

My bet is Newsom/Obama. Obama/Newsom wouldn’t shock me ...

And I could be totally wrong ...

The bastards in charge just might run Biden for reelection ... the names are, in a sense, irrelevant. The real power is behind the curtain.

Way to go NYT, right in schedule. Pretend that it is possible for a dem to lose to give the impression that the elections are still legit. But they know the truth. With mail in voting, Biden will win in a landslide twenty days after Election Day is over.

How many votes are needed.

Stop counting.

Expel observers from polling places.

Manufacture.

Pull ahead by one vote and declare victory.

Gavin said he’s not running BUT it’s clear he wants the job.

I thought he would be the nominee.

Then again Joe’s been in Washington so long maybe he has dirt on a bunch of people and Democrats can’t so easily throw him overboard.

THAT is an interesting theory.

However, since the Democrats are actively working to collapse the economy, COLLAPSE is the main goal.

Who gets the Credit or Blame for it is irrelevant.

True, we all know Joe will go but how will they handle the disappearance of Kamala from the ticket?

Maybe she can accept the Supreme Court Justice role or maybe one billion dollars in a numbered offshore account. No way she could handle the campaigning. Remember all her efforts to get the nomination (against Biden) in the primaries resulted in lower and lower poll numbers, a big drop off in donations and finally her backing out. The voters spoke.

Maybe the big problem is just simmering anxiety about Biden’s age.

Bull s**t. Lots of people in their 70s and 80s are sharp and lucid.

Just compare Trump to Biden. I think they're only 3 years difference and it's night and day!

Trump can talk to people for hours without a teleprompter. Biden routinely falls in public, slurs his words, shuffles when he walks, appears incoherent and clearly has some degree of dementia.

It's not the age, it's the person!

I’m not sure how many people who are part of the democratic base (elites and government dependent persons) like Joe Biden in the first place. He was just the Dem nominee, and he wasn’t Trump.
