We were told last week that both Carters were on their death beds. I was picturing them much as my mother was in the week or so prior to her passing. We had to use medical services transport her home from her last hospitalization. Apparently, they are in a bit better shape than their grandson indicated.
I may not agree with Jimmy Carter’s politics, but his family has been blessed to have the couple with them for so many years. To the grandchildren and great grandchildren, the couple are just grandparents and they do not necessarily see them through the political lens that we do. My goodness, do you realize it has been almost 50 years since Jimmy Carter was elected President? Dang, I feel old!
Most folks I know who go into hospice pass in a week or two… a month at most. WTF is old Jimmy doing? This seems more like the “assisted living” phase.
The contest is running pretty strong with recent contenders. However, it took a few years to recognize his championship form, but Bush took the title away from Carter long ago. Don't even ask me which one, the father or the spawn. One signed us up for the new global order, the 2nd bought us tickets for all the carnival rides.
Carter is the Comeback Player of the Year.

Hospice can last a long time. Often, folks go off it after awhile.

Too bad Biden didn’t remain as a professor at U Penn. Or he could have continued driving a semi.
My mother lasted almost six months they keep thinking she would die in the next week or two but she didn’t. I was out of the country back then a lot, so I think she was waiting for me to get back or maybe she was just a tough old bird and was going to go when she wanted to go...
