Former President Trump told Fox News Digital that he would accept a short-term role as speaker of the House of Representatives to serve as a "unifier" for the Republican Party until lawmakers reach a decision on who should take on the post.
Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., was removed as speaker of the House Tuesday after Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., introduced a measure against him known as a motion to vacate, accusing him of breaking promises he made to win the speaker's gavel in January.
"I have been asked to speak as a unifier because I have so many friends in Congress," Trump told Fox News Digital. "If they don’t get the vote, they have asked me if I would consider taking the speakership until they get somebody longer-term, because I am running for president."

If I knew how Trump does what he does, I’d be as rich as him.
I hate to burst a bubble, but the deep state will send Trump to the ole Mar a Lago mansion in the sky before they allow him anywhere near that speaker’s chair. And, most of the GOP establishment would cheer as they did so.
I’ve always had a healthy dose of distrust of government officials and bureaucracy, but over the past few years, I’ve learned that they are more wicked and evil than even I thought possible. Yes. They will k i l l people who they think will stop them or reveal any of their corruption. They have obviously done away with people who were less of a threat than Trump, and maybe people were just as much threat to their power structure as he is. But irrespective of whether they have taken such a big step before, it would be nothing for them to take it up one notch.

Trump should be made Speaker for one day just to humiliate Nancy Pelosi. Then they should vacate him and give it to Scalise or Jordan.
With Hillary and Harris ahead of him he won’t make the cut.
I think he knows full well it will never happen, but the foaming-at-the-mouth angst it is producing amongst the demoncrap/uniparty/media establishment is pure gold in terms of dominating the news cycle.
