Take another look. Try to watch as if that was you on the ground.
Just not seein’ it, sorry.
I’ve seen it many times. Chauvin may not be a good guy but his trial and conviction was a sham. He didn’t kill GF.
As others pointed out, that wasn't his neck. It was his trapezius muscle--on the right, as I recall. It's one of the biggest muscles in the body. The neck is a good 6 inches north of there on a man Floyd's size. At the trial, after the defense lawyers quoted the Coroner's Report on this at the trial, even the prosecutor corrected himself to say the officer's knee was on Floyd's "upper back." A knee there has no effect on breathing. Ask a friend who does Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
If Mr. Floyd hadn't been throwing police officers around like rag dolls, no doubt they would have had more leisure to consider his comfort. But of course, his labored breathing had nothing to do with the cops. It was the caps that killed him. Sometimes, you can't fix stupid, or evil.
Now try to watch it as if Chauvin was black and Floyd white. There would have been no riots and most likely not even a trial.
Why would I? That could never happen to me because I'm NOT STUPID ENOUGH to resist arrest.
Because I know that when you do, you DESERVE what's coming next.
You might beat the rap but YOU WON'T BEAT THE RIDE. When the Po-Po says, "You're under arrest," that means you're going for the ride. PERIOD.
Save the wear and tear on your body (and your bankbook) and be as obsequious as you know how to be.
“Take another look. Try to watch as if that was you on the ground.”
Should I be realistic and also imagine that I took a fatal dose of Fentanyl, or just engage in your romantic fantasy of pure innocence?
