DOJ threatens to sue Texas if border law is enforced
The Hill ^ | 12/28/2023 | MIRANDA NAZZARO

Posted on 12/28/2023 1:53:47 PM PST by ChicagoConservative27

The Department of Justice (DOJ) warned Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) it will sue Texas if he enforces a new state law that allows for the prosecution and deportation of migrants entering the U.S. from Mexico, according to a letter obtained by The Hill.

Abbott signed the legislation earlier this month, citing the increased number of migrant encounters at the U.S. southern border.

The law, set to take effect March 5, allows any Texas law enforcement officer to arrest those suspected of illegal entry into the country. Once arrested, migrants must either agree to a judge’s order to leave the U.S. or face misdemeanor charges of illegal entry.

Az was a similar case. Roberts screwed us but good on that one so unfortunately there is precedent now. The court is different and country is being crushed so maybe the outcome will be different, if they even take the case

One thing that could happen is an appeal to SCOTUS. If SCOTUS ruled for the DOJ then what? And if they ruled for Texas, meanwhile millions of invaders come in, unless the Biden gang suddenly adopts a sane border policy.

Well, we are making headway, since the mini coup took place.

The one trying to railroad impeach Texas AG Paxton.

I am confident some more will regret doing that stunt.

Phelan will go bye bye. With a little luck he will go back to California.

But he is now marked. Like a dog marks a tree.

I heard that Texas can; if it wishes; split up into as many as five states.

Anyone know about this?

Thanks. Roberts voted against AZ. Here they argue that Texas SB4 conflicts with the 2012 SCOTUS AZ ruling: "Supremacy clause" etc.

To assume that no Texas LEOs will enforce the new law is delusional. It’s coming, and the DOJ might as well prepare the lawsuit instead of squawking about it.

See you in court, fools.

There was a discussion about what the cause of the Civil War was. The term “slavery” is a term thrown around. We will enot be slaves to a federal government that is completely tyrannical and corrupt that refuses to do its job by the Constitution. I can easily see why a state would want to leave a union that’s a complete disaster run by political pigs. Texas knows about this but time is running out as it’s being invaded and a iron fist is over its head by Fedgov.

Time to use one of the lefts choices. IGNORE.

Whey do we insist on fighting the left with one arm tied behind our backs? If one side is following the law and the other doesn’t and does whatever they want to do, where do people think that is gonna get us?

Give all the invaders a one way ticket to Washington DC and Rehobeth Beach, Delaware, and give them baseball bats and a baseball as they get off the bus, a great American sport they can learn. Let the people bringing them in live with them and play ball with them.

I could not agree more. If they ignore any court ruling they don’t like we have to respond in kind. Unfortunately I doubt Abbott has the stones to challenge the AZ precedent. He basically did nothing for 3 years while Texas was overrun by millions of illegals.
