The Supreme Court will decide if Trump can be kept off 2024 presidential ballots

The Supreme Court said Friday it will decide whether former President Donald Trump can be kept off the ballot because of his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss, inserting the court squarely in the 2024 presidential campaign.

The justices acknowledged the need to reach a decision quickly, as voters will soon begin casting presidential primary ballots across the country. The court agreed to take up a case from Colorado stemming from Trump’s role in the events that culminated in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Arguments will be held in early February.

"President Donald Trump can be kept off the ballot because of his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss, inserting the court squarely in the 2024 presidential campaign."

Am I the only one who saw NO such effort to overturn the election results. Every speech I saw was him questioning the validity of results due to various questionable reasons. Since when can't a private American citizen question election results?

The most egregious false allegation is that he encouraged the idiots at the Capitol. I saw the end of his speech that night and his words were to paraphrase, "If you folks here are going to the Capitol to protest this stolen election, please do so in a peaceful manner and give Law Enforcement all the due respect they deserve."

What part do I have wrong?

How does State government have jurisdiction over a Federal election?

Kind of like states legalizing marijuana

The only federal election is when the electoral college votes.

The last time Congress changed the number of Supreme Court justices was in 1869, again to meet a political end.

May 24, 2023 called, said you can put this sockpuppet account to rest along with the all the other lame iterations that were previously retired thanks to yours truly.

The best part of Greasy's closing-soon campaign? You worked for free and yet Meatball's campaign somehow still got something less than zero from you LOFL...

Is DeSantis going to drop out of the race on Jan. 15?

"I have heard from two people very familiar with the DeSantis campaign — a major donor and a high-level political operative — that if the Florida governor loses the Iowa caucuses to former President Donald Trump as expected on the night of Jan. 15, he will either drop out of the race that night or make his announcement the next morning.

More than that, both believe DeSantis will then — very begrudgingly — endorse Trump for president.

Should both predictions come to pass, DeSantis would be jumping on a bandwagon that is dramatically increasing in speed and taking on more and more Republican politicians looking to back the clear frontrunner. Last week, Trump received critically important endorsements from House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (Minn.) and Majority Leader Steve Scalise (La.). Those are on top of Speaker Mike Johnson’s (La.) endorsement just a month ago."

https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/12/12/jimmy-carter-personally-experienced-voter-fraud-his-first-election-was-stolen/

“The only reason Carter ended up in office when he did is because he claimed publicly that he had won and went to court to fight to overturn the election. Apparently, that’s considered a criminal act in Georgia today and can get you charged with violating the state’s racketeering law.”

Imagine that- challenging election results based on suspected fraud and winning!

But seriously, if the Court does the wrong thing, get ready for unrest.

I somewhat expect these states to quickly print up ballots leaving off Trump’s name.

When a court order comes down... they will SAY they will print up an additional ballot listing Trump’s name, to be used alongside the already produced official ballot.

They will intentionally not produce enough of the additional ballots. And those ballots will have problems being tallied by machines.

I don’t trust this court.

Nope, there are 3 not so bright leftist activists who don't see the critical need for a unanimous decision here, because it's Trump.

“STACK THE COURTS”

It is more likely some will try to shrink the Court by saying the Trump appointees should recuse themselves. Similar to saying a President should not be able to pardon himself.
