A Detroit man who was mauled by three dogs as he walked home from a bus stop has died from his injuries.
Harold Phillips, a 35-year-old father, died Friday evening, four days after he was attacked by the dogs as he walked to his house from a bus stop, his wife said.
Detroit Animal Control and Care explained how the three dogs got out of a fenced yard and viciously attacked him. Phillips was hospitalized following the attack and had to have his right arm amputated but things went from bad to worse.
The three dogs owner, Roy Goodman, has been fined $5,000 for not following city's ordinance and failing to secure the animals, WWJ reported. "To the Phillips family, I'm so sorry," Roy Goodman told WXYZ.
In 2021, one of the dogs belonging to the Goodmans bit a child, according to Detroit Animal Care and Control. Court records then detail how in January 2021, Goodman was charged with failing to prevent an animal from engaging in nuisance/menacing behavior, a misdemeanor.
He pleaded guilty at the time but the case was dismissed.

I have a pit now, a pup. I always said I did not want one, didnt want one in my neighborhood but.....A young couple broke up and they had gotten this pup. Neither of them could take her with them, so it was either me, or the pound. She is in my yard now with a wireless invisible fence so she cannot get out and bother anyone. Also I told my wife, we’ll take her but IF she ever bothers anyone I’ll put a 22 ball in her head.

My neighbors two Shepard's and Rottweiler got loose and were running around our cul-de-sac when I walked up to them and yelled “GET IN THE DAMNED YARD!!!” They turned around and ran, cowering, into their yard and I shut the gate.
Neighbor had a wireless invisible fence.
Took dog about 2 weeks to test it & figure out what her punishment would be if she tried to cross it.
She figured out that IF she did it at speed-—her punishment was mild.
We live in rural Wyoming. Stray dogs that exhibit hostility get shot. Period.
YUP; a dogs owner is ALWAYS RESPONSIBLE for that dogs behavior!
If this dumbass can’t properly socialize his dogs he should not have any animal under his control.
I have 4 Dogs, each big enough to kill a human with no help from the others.
If my dogs act up they will answer to me, they don’t want that to happen.
All 4 of my dogs are what is called “GURDIAN BREEDS”, that means PROTECT—NOT ATTACK!
If any of my dogs attacked a human being for any reason OTHER THAN THAT HUMAN SHOWED A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO MY FAMILY, I would put that dog down myself!
