Mousa Abu Marzouk of the Hamas Political Bureau was asked in a February 22, 2024 interview on Alghad TV [Egypt] if Hamas's Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades had any expectations regarding the consequences of the October 7 attack. Abu Marzouk said that "nobody in the whole world" could have expected such a "barbaric" response by Israel. He added that nobody could have anticipated that the U.S., Britian and other Western countries would unite to wage war against Hamas.
Interviewer: "When the [Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam] Brigades did what they did on October 7, did they have expectations regarding the consequences of that attack?"
Mousa Abu Marzouk: "Look, the consequences of the attack... Nobody in the whole world expected them to be so barbaric, and in such violation of all the international laws, treaties and norms. Nobody expected the [Israeli response] to be so barbaric, because, ultimately, the resistance fights soldiers. It is not fighting civilians with planes and tanks."
Interviewer: "What would you do if you had expected these consequences?"
Abu Marzouk: "Nobody expected that all the Western powers, The U.S., and Britain, would wage world war against civilians. Nobody expected that.

"By What Logic Could Anyone Have Expected That The U.S. And The Entire West Would Unite In Order To Wage War Against A Movement?"
"Do you think anyone in the world could have expected there to be a world war, in the sense that America, Germany, Britian, France, Italy, and Spain – all of them would gather their armies, and the U.S. would send its two largest aircraft carriers to the Mediterranean Sea, all in order to fight a movement?
"By what logic could anyone have expected that the U.S. and the entire West, would unite, without exception, in order to wage war against a movement? Who could have expected this?"
“But nobody did. And a lot of people must have been privy to the preparations.”
Like the German townsfolk living near the death camps “had no idea” what was going on.
What goes around, comes around.
Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it.
They probably really did expect others to just lay back and take it and cower in a corner because of their actions, like usual. Bullies never like it when someone actually fights back. They’ve been treated with kid gloves long enough.
“Nobody expected that all the Western powers, The U.S., and Britain, would wage world war against civilians. Nobody expected that.” …You mean after Hamas waged war against, and slaughtered and raped civilians?
Nobody could have anticipated that Israel would go medieval on your ass after you gang raped women, beheaded babies, murdered 1500 people in cold blood, and carted off 250 hostages??
LOL. That is exactly what they expected and hoped for. The Sunni middle east was about to make its peace with Israel and unite against Iran. Netanyahu was popular and supporting the settlements and attacking the voices of appeasement in Israel.
The middle east is now on fire and America has an administration that has to appease its radical muslim supporters but that also depends on a reliable Jewish vote. So the American response would certainly be weak, and it has been. The Sunni coalition is broken up, America is shown to be a steroid filled coward and Netanyahu will not survive the next election.
And after the dust settles, a hapless west donates huge amounts of humanitarian aid to Hamas, of which 90% goes to rebuild their terror network. That a bunch of their civilians are maimed and murdered is just the cost of doing good s$$t for Allah.
All in all, a huge win for Hamas.
Inbred ignorant morons.
Carpet bombing of Gaza from top to bottom, bottom to top, top to bottom, would have been the correct reaction to the massive Hamas atrocities against Israel.
I dare say their propaganda wing is the most successful in history.
[consanguinity issue]
Time (blecch) Magazine did one on the Saddam Hussein family waaaay back - it was rather interesting......
Imagine such creativity. Claiming the IDF is engaged in criminal barbarism for deliberately killing innocent Gaza citizens. The only answer for this is to call on Russia to stop this barbarism with ICBMs with nuclear payloads. /sarc.
You poke the bear and when it turns and swats you, you wonder why that happened. These guys are real strategic thinkers.
The article repeats itself four times.
The October attack was a wake up call.
Did not expect the consequences?
Consequences are one of the building blocks of life.
After watching the masses celebrate the death and desecration of Shani Louk, not a soul on the streets tried to help, instead they moved closer so they too could spit on her body, makes me think there’s no innocents in Gaza and they deserve a trip straight to Hell.

I am not certain that the Israeli policy will be to allow anything to be rebuilt in Gaza. Bulldozing it, putting in military bases, and turn it into an uninhabited refuge should get the point across to the West bank. Voting matters, think before you risk your nation for a bunch of fanatics.
Start a barbaric war, whine when your victim turns out to be better at waging war than you expected.
1 month in a “barracks” at Auschwitz. No blankets. No bedding. No water. No heat. No lighting. No food. No clothes. No windows to keep out the elements. Nobody helping.
Might stimulate “nobody” to anticipate the consequences.
