A year or two ago if someone asked me about the Houthis, I woulda had an image of a goat humper on a camel, dressed like an Ewok, with a Lawrence of Arabia rifle, or maybe an AK.
Sophisticated never crossed my mind. And in the last month, they are hitting ships with missiles, survived being bombed, captured a Navy drone sub somehow, and now cut some undersea cables. And last fall they shot a missile at Israel that was intercepted in space in the first instance of “space combat”.
Exactly who the hell ARE these “Houthis” in reality?. I need to find a basic article or primer on them. Some kind of “know your enemy” kind of thing.

Egypt is already against them because Suez canal revenue has dropped. They have now managed to cheese off most of the other Mohammedan countries in the area. The only saving grace is that most of these guys have weak armies.

These same propagandists would blame Houthis for blowing up a gas pipeline between Russia and Germany if they thought they could get suckers to believe it.
Biden will continue insignificant tactical strikes against the Houthis, but nothing that strikes at their strategic core. Its all about grabbing headlines in an election year.

I would not put it past the Iranians to sabotage the cables and let the blame be pinned on the Houthis.
