Your sentiments are well placed but your assumptions are not exact.

Problem is this: Any explanation is long-winded and repetitive, some are accused of lying or propagandizing. Here we are dealing with HISTORICAL FACT, in short, it gets boring after 3 sentences but here we go:

Yes, GB won (read:”Conquered”) the area now known as Israel, Jordan and a very problematic name: “Palestine” in 1917.

In WWI, the British army attacked Beer Sheva, then Gaza (yes Gaza was a problematic in WWI and since Biblical times), failing to take it I believe twice. She succeeded eventually blasting the Ottoman Turks out of that region, (Gaza) and pushed them north towards Jerusalem.

While GB blasted the Turks in Palestine she fought for Jerusalem then (with Ge. Allenby and T.E. Lawrence) conquered Damascus which is Syria’s capital today. Look how well Assad is running HIS country!

There was no State of Israel, Trans-Jordan, Syria or independent Lebanon. The French and British divided up the region for “areas of influence. The French took the Lebanon and Syria, while the British took Trans-Jordan and Palestine., (Sykes-Picot agreement).

The British CONQUERED AND OCCUPIED an area they would eventually call BRITISH MANDATE PALESTINE. That included a swath of an area called “Trans-Jordan” to the East of the Jordan river (similar to today’s misguided and ignorant rabble who shout, “from the river to the sea”) and Palestine to the West of the Jordan River.

From 1917-1948 the British ruled via an iron fist. There were no pleading for the “innocent” Arabs and Jews living AS CITIZENS of (here we go again with the problematic term, “Palestine”), that is, there were Jewish Palestinians and Arab Palestinians from 1917-1948.

Who ruled Palestine? Not the Jews and certainly not the Arabs.

During the mandate period the British promised the Arabs of the region, (not yet called “Palestinians”, that would come later in 1964 by the PLO’s Yassir Arafart), an Arab homeland and in 1917 promised the Jews a homeland, (see Lord Balfour declaration).

Now the Arabs and Jews did not live in harmony under British rule. The Jews wanted to increase immigration while the Arabs opposed it.

From 1920-1948 the Arabs rioted, killed, raped and destroyed Jewish property in Jerusalem, Safed, Hebron, Jaffa and many other towns. Today this is popularly called an “Intifada” but it is really just a violent riot. Does this pattern sound familiar?

The violence was so bad that the League of Nations sent repeated fact-finding committees to figure out how to smooth things over in Palestine.
ALL CONCLUSIONS FOR COMMPROMISE by these many commissions were met by a Jewish OK and an Arab NO WAY. This happened time and time again. Arabs NO COMPROMISE, JEWS-OK.

By 1948 there were many terror and counter terror attacks carried out by Jews against Arabs and sometimes British forces while the Arabs attacked the Jews.

By May of 1948 the powder keg was about the explode and an exhausted and financially broken Britain quit Palestine.

They gave more leeway to Arab irregular forces and Jordanian forces as the Jews were outnumbered and outgunned. The Jews claim the Brits assisted the Arabs while the Arabs accuse the British of helping the Jews. There are facts to prove any claim, especially on the ground.

With the British leaving a vacuum, 5 new Arabs states attacked Israel with the STATED GOAL of GENOCIDE, (look it up). The Arabs miraculously lost in 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973, 1982 and all the “Operations” since then. Yet they cling to a rigid, non-compromising position.

The rest is history.

So for all those “From the river to the sea” A-holes realize that this is the Arab call for GENOCIDE against the Jews, something they did on October 7th yet again.
It is not the case that the Israeli army is committing any sort of genocide on the residents of Gaza. They wanted a war on October 7th and now they are reaping what they sew.
