Measles was a normal childhood disease when I was a child

I had measles at age 6 plus chickenpox and whooping cough...

Also the mumps would visit our school once a year...

The doctor would visit the house confirm the disease and the Mum would call the school and be told which day to let Susie or Johnny return to school 3 weeks hence...

Nobody was quarantined other than the sick one was kept home...

The disease was allowed to play out through the school and was soon over...

The only difference with measles is that for most of those 3 weeks we were very sick with vomiting and had to stay in a darkened room...

The other disease produced spots or lumps but hardly affected us healthy children...

We had 3 extra weeks of school holidays to the envy of the other kids who didnt get sick that year...

:)

The only vaccination I had as a child at school was for polio...

A few years back there was an outbreak of Whooping Cough in Washington state. The government and media’s reaction was to deny where it came from even though the answer was clear as daylight.

The article is poorly written, as they usually are. Ae they blaming anti-Covid-vaxxers or those who are against measles vaccines?
COVID has nothing to do with measles and the experimental, dangerous mRNA gene jab will not prevent measles.
So just stop it, media, with the propaganda! Shut the hell up!

Hmmmm! Our house is more leaning towards “decliners”. Not so much “antis”. 😊👍

Yep.

I have a friend that is a physical therapist - she contracted Whooping Cough from one of her patients.

She told me she broke three ribs from coughing so much and was never so miserable in her life - cough medicine doesn’t touch Whooping Cough.

We’ve had a number of cases in California in recent years, I was exposed in the classroom to it - Thank God I didn’t get it, it is highly contagious. Any new enrollee in the school had to show proof of Whooping Cough vaccination or they were not admitted.

In med school in Chicago in 1981 I was doing a pediatric rotation at Childrens Memorial Hospital.
One day our professor took us in to see a refugee child from Cambodia.
The kid had measles and our professor said “ take a good look because you won’t see that in your career”
He was right, since I retired last year.
Just missed it.

“ doctors say antivaxxers and Biden’s open border policy are allowing virus to spread“

Cute how the leftists at The Daily Mail gives equal blame to the anti vaxers for this. This is Traitor Joe’s fault period and you will not hear about on any US “news” outlet

anyone who gets Measles is a moron that deserves what they get. You can’t even register for school without proof of shots.

Measles is nothing compared to the diseases woke/Democrats are going to inflict on America if their insanity is not halted.

Thanks to illegal immigration now Malaria is also back. Can Yellow Fever and Cholera be far behind? I’ve read that one man was found to be infected with screw worms in his nose. This was supposed to be gone from the US and the upper half of Mexico decades ago.

Vito Corleone could have come in through Mexico and not have had to spend time in a tuberculosis ward.

What other nasties are out there waiting to be imported in the bodies of illegals.

“ doctors say ...."

A good policy nowadays is simply to ignore what "doctors say."

An even better policy, in my mind, would be to hang about 90% of today's doctors and those others who participate in today's medical industry. But a person can't have everything.

Being one of the older folks, I “survived” measles.
We all did.
It was the thing you have to get in your childhood.
It just came to town and everybody, who did not had it before, got it. And you were immune for life.
As I remember, it was no big deal!

Frankly, they seem to be hysterical about nothing.
Like the media always do.

My cousin is a doctor in the Bay Area - he works at a free clinic a few times a week. Said he saw his first case of leprosy right before he retired a few years ago.

I also had measles as a child - my mother kept meticulous records - right after I delivered my son, the doctor told me I showed no immunity to measles and had to get an MMR shot, which he immediately delivered - I was shocked at how much it hurt... not fun after just going through labor...

I expect we’ll have an outbreak of ebola soon given all the Africans that are coming across the southern border.

They label those who rejected the Covid “vaccination” as anti-vaxxers, which is incorrect for the majority of us. Saying no to one doesn’t mean we reject all vaccinations.

I broke a rib from coughing. Turned out I was highly allergic to cottonwood trees, and we had three in our backyard. If it hadn’t been for that bout, I might never have sought out allergy tests, but it’s a good thing I did. I learned I was allergic to many pollens and tree molds, grasses, etc. as well as cats. I had to get allergy shots every week for 2 years.

One broken rib was awful. I can’t imagine having three broken. Every breath was so painful.
