I watched the 2017 eclipse in Geneva, NE and there were no big crowds or environmental catastrophes. It was estimated that 1 million people were watching the eclipse in Central Nebraska. Other than very heavy traffic on I-80 there were no problems that might remotely require the National Guard.
Schools are closed… Our son was born on or maybe caused the blizzard of 94. Our youngest daughter is an April 8 baby. So blizzards and blackouts. Lived through 2 Derechos. I love coincidences.
I bought a high powered telescope that I plan on pointing directly at that mama-jamma, and I’m going to be able to see it WAY better than you jokers!
Actually my son had the best view of anyone on earth of the sun during the 2017 eclipse.
He’s an engineer at nasa. He was a data technician with a solar observation satellite that was way above the moon.
Next thing we know the government will build an altar and have people chant to Gaia during the eclipse to drive away the monsters eating the sun.
I’ll be watching from Cleveland, precisely in the path of totality. All the hotels around the city are booked up solid for the day before, at three times their normal rate in some cases. Lakefront parks, which will be ideal locations, are renting spaces to sit. The Guardians opening day game is starting a few hours later than usual so people can watch the eclipse from the stands before the game begins.
As for hazmat teams and all the rest, I have no idea what these imbeciles are talking about. It smells like an attempt to keep people thinking they need government to keep them safe, even though there is nothing to be kept safe from.
My friend lives in the center of the pathway in central Texas. He is going to hang out on his back porch and smoke a cigar.

After what we saw in Russian and with our borders wide open I’d avoid getting in any crowd of people.
It’s the exploitation of the ignorant- ignorant of the facts that total solar eclipses are not harmful unless people look at them except for a VERY SHORT TIME during totality.
The paranoia is amazing.
