its the equivalent of Japanese Kamikazes in 1945 - shocking, destructive, but a sign of desperation, and strategically insignificant.

—” strategically insignificant.”

Are you sure?

This event clearly shows great weakness in Russian air defense.

Will Russia remove AA from in and around Ukraine to cover the homefront?

So many targets, and not enough defensive systems to cover them. And the refineries are large easy targets, and they burn so well.

The Chinese will only pay firesale prices or less.
Such a deal.

“March 2024, Russia’s government announced a six-month ban on diesel and gasoline exports to help stabilize prices in the domestic market. “

An army marches on its stomach and rides on diesel power.

It is.

The Ukraine attacks do minimal damage to soft targets which are easily repaired.

Putin has been using an unusual level of restraint in Ukraine for a Russian military operation. These attacks motivate the Russians to get more aggressive and less discriminating in their targeting

For everyone of these asymmetric attacks by Ukraine inside Russia itself - Russia retaliates in kind.

They are in the process of dismantling Ukraine power stations and other critical infrastructure and they are taking out NATO assets in Ukraine, up to and including killing Western military advisors and technicians who operate the complex NATO weapons systems

They are also using proxys to conduct their own asymmetric attacks around the world against US and NATO soft targets, of which there are many.

The days of the Putin Price Hike and other Biden Wag the Dog proxy war games are coming to an end.

There will be no Ukrainian tanks parading through Crimea and Red Square or any such media foolishness.

It's time to put a stop to the destruction in Ukraine while there is still an independent Ukraine to save.

Dad was manning an anti aircraft gun at the base of the #3 turret of the Maryland, when a Kamikaze got through withering fire and impacted the top of said turret.

He might disagree, a few feet lower, it would have hit the side of the turret right over his head, and I wouldn't be here...
