Soros Fund Management, founded by billionaire investor George Soros, is tightening its grip over the US radio industry after scooping up a majority stake in bankrupt radio company Audacy.
In those talks, Soros’ fund, which is now controlled by the magnate’s nonprofit organization, Open Society Foundations, has privately mulled acquiring other major radio companies, including AM and FM giant Cumulus Media, according to Semafor.

My phone’s Bluetooth is my radio station. All the others are pretty much dead.
I stopped listening after Rush died. Let him waste his money on them.
New regulation: it’s a violation of anti-trust for any one individual or holding company to possess more than one radio network, or to possess ownership of a radio network over a given size. If a radio network grows past the threshold, it must be split and the new owner must prove no affiliation with the other.

I don’t even have a radio in the house any more, and I’m a bicycler so I rarely use my car. Its radio is still set to the local Rush Limbaugh station but if his replacements are airing I switch to a music channel. Talk radio died for me along with him.
