Laser Propulsion for submarines is the latest development from the world famous VaporWare Corporation...the producers of flying cars, cures for cancer, interstellar starships, anti-gravity systems, androids, and food replicators.

Gee, I wonder whom the Chicoms have been stealing (or bribing, or both) this technology from, for decades to create such highly advanced war machines? I wonder.....

“Gee, I wonder whom the Chicoms have been stealing...”

That may well be true. But it’s important to consider that the Chinese have a population over a billion and they apparently enjoy a higher average IQ than many nations. They might well have four times as many geniuses as we have. They value education and don’t seem to be burdened with DEI.

They didn't have to steal it. Thanks to the free traitors we not only sent our technology over there, we also funded their research with our consumer dollars.

We want to point the finger at the young generation for their stupidity, but it was our short sighted stupidity that may be what destroys this nation.

But as long as we can get a new TV set to replace the ones we bought last year so we can watch the NFL on the latest and greatest technology, everything will be OK.

You’re right. But don’t forget — we have our pronouns right.

I’m sure someone will invent a device that detects large amounts of electromagnetic radiation .

Lasers emit tons of that stuff.

Hey, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express one time

5.56mm

The notion that Chinese development is based on theft is a real blind spot for many conservatives.

Yes - China steals technology. Especially in commercial applications. In government they certainly want to know what the rest of the world is doing. They have different ways of such spying that the USA does not have - particularly, vast overseas research labor working as double-agents, forced technology transfer for investment in China (although westerners have become wise to this)

But as you point out - they educate many times more engineers than we do. we all know there are no “gender studies” majors at Chinese Universities - or if there are, they are considered the idiots of the class. They also put their smartest people on intensely competitive career tracks.

There are more kids in China studying classical piano like Mozart and Chopin, than in the entire West combined. Parents there see it how Western parents 100 years ago saw it - a way to train one’s mind in the combination of beauty and discipline

America now promotes the culture of the black ghetto. But I digress.....

One simply can not “steal” one’s way to working hypersonic missiles, quantum computing, laser-propelled subs, etc...

We and the Brits have been doing aircraft carriers for a hundred years now, including some pretty nasty combat experience. But sadly even the Brits now seem to have a problem getting carriers right.

I would be surprised if the Chinese don’t ‘get carriers right’ before too long. But it might take time for them to acquire the expertise we have.

The Japanese in WWII figured out how to use carriers pretty quickly.

Meanwhile, here's what displays of warfighting prowess are going on belowdecks on those fearsome US Navy warships...

Horse fart power... cart before the horse. And all under water, claims included.

What lunacy. A laser in the ocean pushing against what and with what?
