This won't work out good for Ukraine. Trying to negotiate from a position of such weakness will be a losing proposition for Ukraine. They picked the worst time to negotiate. Russia is pushing them back all over the battlefield and they are within weeks of launching a big offensive. Zelensky must be getting advice from the biggest moron of all, Biden.

Yeah, it sucks to needing to negotiate a cease fire when you are about to collapse and have no negotiating leverage. I have been making this point for over a year.

It has been plainly obvious for 18 months at least that this is where the Ukraine has been heading.

That is why I made the point that all aid should be directed to bolstering Ukraine defensive capabilities to give them the greatest leverage to negotiate an honorable and favorable cease fire agreement as soon as possible - last year.

In stead , morons and war shills were talking delusional Hitler Bunker happy talk about driving Russia out of Eastern Ukraine, retaking Crimea and Ukrainian tanks parading though Red Square. Now the only leverage they have is pressure from NATO and military pressure form NATO means direct NATO military intervention - ie WWIII

Never underestimate Biden;s ability for F things up. So, yeah, it sucks to be Ukraine but that is the reality of the situation and you go to war with what you got, not with what you wish you had.

And the reality is that the Ukraine has very little to go to war with because two years of war time destruction has drained the country of it capability and will to fight.

No amount of NATO aid is going to fix that problem short of direct NATO military intervention

Ukraine has been at the brink of collapse for many months and our leaders have lied to us about that fact while they desperately try to secure another round of futile funding to delay the inevitable and unavoidable military and economic crash until after the November elections.

Now, Putin is calculating whether it's in Russia's interests to rapidly move forward with an offensive while Ukraine is at it's weakest point and about to collapse in a US election year where US incumbent President is the weakest and most incompetent and cowardly in American history , or to wait until a potential Trump Presidency where he will be negotiating terms with a ruthless master negotiator in control of the most powerful military the world has ever seen.

Choices, choices .

Bumbling Biden as a string of international embarrassments to his credit, but Ukraine will go down in history as the ‘Mother of all Biden Fiascos.’ What was blowing up Nord stream supposed to accomplish anyway? Don’t tell me Biden had nothing to do with that crazy misadventure.

That would be a disaster for all parties. Russia does not wish to have control of post war Ukraine and we certainly do no want that to happen

The truth is that this is a senseless and unnecessary war from the start fomented by Biden and other foreign influences to further their agendas.

Agreed. However, the chances of Ukraine agreeing to the Minsk accords (that they broke) would never be agreed upon by Ukraine unless forced to honor it.

They ( and the EU) willingly broke the agreements, verified by Merkel’s own admission, and their dishonesty and deceit shows beyond doubt they can not be trusted to negotiate in good faith.

Ukraine must rid themselves of the evil US influence, obtain a new government that is neutral, constitutionally establish a neutrality pact that limits their military and address’s the ethnic Russian provinces call for Independence from Ukraine.

Reading Vlad’s goals and intentions of his military operation, it is clear he has no intentions of occupying all of Ukraine, he is taking care of his people’s legitimate interests.

Ukraine will have to be “ forced” to give up the ethnic Russian provinces, and unconditional surrender is the only tool now available. Once Vlad secures his Russian provinces, establishes a large buffer zone, has Ukraine Constitutional assurances of neutrality, life can go on.

I call his Ukraine war “ Afghanistan II debacle “. Left unchecked, senile Joe will completely destroy America, with no chance of recovery.

This is exactly where we are heading.

The sad fact of life is that Zlensky and the Ukraine had a much more favorable negotiated settlement brokered by the Turks that was in the signing process when Boris Johnson flew in and torpedoed at the last minute using unrealistic promises of NATO support to induce the Ukraine to engage in a NATO proxy war against Russia.

Two years later over half a million Ukraine casualties. twenty million refugees having left the country, and massive devastation of Ukraine's economy and industrial base which will take a generation to rebuild and a defeated Ukraine faces economic and military collapse as Biden and NATO begin stabbing them in the back.

After all the death, destruction, ruined lives and suffering the Ukraine now must face the fact that it has no negotiation leverage and must accept much worse terms than it had in the initial cease fire agreement it refused to sign two weeks into the war. The only hope for negotiation leverage Ukraine has is massive pressure from a US led NATO support in negotiations but the Biden Administration is committed to blocking negotiations and prolonging it's immoral proxy war until after the 2024 elections at the earliest.

Not sure the Ukraine can hold out that long if Russia elects to force the issue, which from a purely military calculation is the obvious thing to do.

So an insanely destructive, unnecessary and senseless conflict just keeps getting more and more destructive, unnecessary and senseless as the clock ticks away for Ukraine.

Very well said. However, as with all dying governments, I fully expect the US to go to war in attempts to “ save face”. It is getting clear their hegemony is waning, on the rocks.

This administration has lost all control of our debt, spending and economy - they will do what all failing nations do when coming apart-double down, become more authoritative, and start (instigate) a WAR.

On that note, there is much talk about Congress revisiting the DRAFT bill that was shelved about two years ago….a clear sign of what is to come. In addition, some of my military friends were concerned about a DOD directive stating a recall of all military retirees, the first “ trial run” is taking volunteers and begins in August some time.

Ukraine peace talks alternative to inevitable battlefield defeat, says senior Ukrainian general

The UK "Telegraph" is telegraphing the Unconditional Surrender of Uke Nazidom as "Peace Talks" to give the GloboHomoNazis time to flee with the cash, leave ordinary Ukrainians holding the bag, and suffering the punishment for GloboHomoNazi Crime.

With US, UK and Frog alphabet agency planning and assistance.

There will be no draft as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war. I’m willing to wager that for anyone who cares to do so.

There won’t be a draft, period.

Direct involvement by U.S. combat arms personnel in Ukraine is not justified from my perspective, as it does not meet all the conditions of the Powell Doctrine.

Careful what you bet, the Draft is being discussed for MANY reasons. You don’t have a crystal ball, the Neo- con’s are always looking to “ intervene “ in many different places across the globe.

This Ukie war was just a warm-up to establish “ teams”….we now know Russia/ China/ Iran, etc. are Team A, the EU and the US Team B, …….the lines have been drawn and it doesn’t look good for Team B.

I’d really be surprised.

I’d also suggest that there would be mass non-compliance.
