Reuters: 20-25 thousand Afghan troops on Paki border
Reuters | Sep 17th, 2001

Posted on 09/17/2001 4:10:03 AM PDT by 12B

It's just a red bullet headline on my Reuters terminal. No text. Following headline says Paki troops are moving in response. I'll look for a link.

Man this is going to get ugly.

Like someone pointed out on a thread last night...I hope Bin Laden isn't waiting for a mass of people,in particular American troops,to be gathered in one place so he can show off his nuclear capability.

May God bless you and God bless America.

How convenient! Aren't the Pakistani terrorist training camps supposed to be on the border? (Sorry about that collateral damage, guys; we were just trying to protect you :)

In contrast to the Afghanis, Pakistan has a modern, professional army. The word "slaughter" springs to mind.

We should thank them for congregating for us. Makes for more efficient use of our bombs.

Time to test the international support we may have. We will see who has the guts for this.

I was thinking last night that we need a "international battlefield." I keep having to find up to date world maps and memorize the countries and who lives where........I'm continaully relearning geography. It would be so much easier if all these skirmishes could all fight in the same place.

Islam has just written its death warrant.

We will occupy and totally westernize the Middle East as we did Japan.

There is no alternative.

Does anyone have a link to a good M.E. map so I can orient myself? And I'm also looking for that map going around last week that showed the "new" Middle East... the one that had a "new Texas" on it.

In contrast to the Afghanis, Pakistan has a modern, professional army.

Not to mention a modern air force, equipped with F-16s.

Maybe the Afghans have learned from Saddam's mistake. When the US was about to use the Saudis as a launching pad, Hussein watched as a half million US troops landed. If Hussein marched in Saudi Arabia, the war would have started on his terms, not ours.

The Pakistani's may be a poor country, but they aren't afraid of a fight. Just ask India.
