Taleban close airspace, planes to be shot down - TASS[BRING IT ON!]

URGENT The Russian news agency ITAR-TASS's Russian-language service quoted a well-informed diplomatic source as saying the Taleban government in Kabul had closed Afghanistan's airspace on Monday morning.

The source said the ban on overflights applied to all countries and also international organizations, including the UN. "The Kabul authorities have warned that all aircraft will be shot down," the source said, acording to the TASS report from Dushanbe.

The source said thousands of people, including Taleban officials, were fleeing Kabul, Kandahar and other areas. Information on the whereabouts of Taleban leaders "is highly conflicting". Source: ITAR-TASS news agency, Moscow, in Russian 0845 gmt 17 Sep 01

I have been hearing some reports that both the Afgans and the Pakistans are massing troops at their border. Also heard that Afgans are pointing SCUDS at Paks. Will they go to war?

They have the same type of arms as the Iraqi's do, except the tanks. The Taliban is not very good at bluffing. They are acting all tough, but they are messing in thier shorts BIG TIME.

The only way to take care of the terrorists, is to make sure that when we are done, that all Fundamentalist Islamics that are left, fear us, more then they hate us. Fear will be thier watchword. When some fundamentalist Islamic Cleric declares Jihad, his congregation will look at him like he is nuts, and walk out of the Mosque thinking, "we know how this game goes, and we ain't playing!!"

Thier fear will be our strength, we must make sure that thier fear is FAR stronger then thier hate!!

Does anyone in the world, even the Taleban, doubt that the US will have air superiority over Afghan anytime they wish.

Afghan doesn't have the low tech that even Iraq has, and we fly anywhere in Iraq that we wish.

I suspect they'll lose their anti-air assets any time they "light up" any of our aircraft. Each asset lost for them is nearly irreplaceable given their economic situation.

Their old stingers might be considered a tool against us, but I've always been taught that our equipment is manufactured with us knowing how to defeat our own stuff should it ever be used against us. Besides, it's very old by now.

Finally, our spec ops trained them. We know where and how they hide.

Do you really think they haven't gotten a few words from the Pakis and the ChiComs on bringing down advanced equipment? The Serbs brought down one of our great toys while being advised by China's military diplomatic staff (some say that's the real reason our pilot hit the place).
