Agreed. The latter part of your post is 100% accurate. I'm just concerned because of the symptoms which are part of anthrax are usually ignored by most people as a cold, and West Palm Beach is not far from where the terrs hid out before heading up north to do their evil on 9-11.

Um...If you are trying to run away from anthrax bacteria then Montana might not be the best place to go...its full of sheep.

One more think Burk, as you and I are on the same team...

AND it concerns me greatly. On the local Tampa news radio station (not that it's the factual gospel by any stretch) they report that this is only the 3rd case in 30 years. Anyone else hear this?

Not an expert there - only semi-knowledgable about cows in Florida!

However no one has hit the panic button yet, so I still fairly at ease.

I'll say it again, calmly, since I am apparently dealing with people who do not read very well.

My response, if you will notice, was not to the original post. See? Not to the original post. I'll say it again, just to make sure you get it. My response was not to the original post.

My response was to freedomnews's post, in which he said (in reply to Loopy) that one could not get anthrax except through a biological weapon.

See? Understand? Do you get it? Is it penetrating at all?

Good point. But I don't want to head to California either. It's full of sheeple.

The specific complaint against freedomnews is that he said anyone getting anthrax automatically has to be the result of biowar, that no other cause of infection is possible.

I heard Shepherd Smith on Fox say that the last case of inhalation anthrax was 30 years ago.

He didn't say if that was in the US or in the whole world.

But you know, weird coincidences happen all the time. If another case shows up soon, we can assume that it's enemy action (and immediately start the carpet bombing). If not, we will probably never know for sure.

I'm not stupid. I read what you said. I still take issue with the fact that you are trying to stir up trouble and get somebody banned on this site - when you just got here! You really think you're cute, don't you!

Well god help them if they incite a huge panic over this. Some brain surgeon emailed the Miami article to our staff here and people are going home. If this is only an isolated case - and the odds are overwhelming that's what it is - Thompson and HHS better communicate that quickly, forcefully and convincingly to everyone or there will be a mass panic over this.

Dude, take a few Cipros and chill out.

It's 1513 where I live, and school's out for the day.

So stop monitoring the hall.

Late, caddie.

P.S., Is 'sow panic' some sort of porcine disease? Maybe like hog cholera?

That's the microbe we should be dropping on the Toweliban.

Maybe that's what W meant when he was talking about reexamining American culture.

Maybe he was telling the CDC to start revving up their smallpox broth machine.

This was INHALATION Anthrax (According to Tommy Thompson) which means that it couldn't, by definition, come from eating bad food or touching infected animals (which would be intestinal and cutaneous infections respectively).

Then you favor spreading panic through deliberate lies. Gotcha.

I made the mistake of assuming that you had some rudimentary sense of morality. It's not a mistake I will make again.

One can get anthrax from livestock, like sheep

Another reason why sheep should not be allowed in the dating pool.

It is not being removed from the forum. It was moved off of the sidebar. The one titled "Palm Beach County FL Man has Anthrax" was posted about a minute and a half sooner.

It sounds like he has the inhaled kind, it would be less frightening if it sounded like the cutaneous more common type.

There's cattle all over Florida, it's a big industry. We have mostly Brahman types and some Florida heat-enduring breeds- ugliest cattle in the world. Down the road from me are American bison, antelope of various species, wild hogs, and Watusi cattle... now those are sharp looking animals. There are also many exotic game farms and private exotic livestock that can also carry the disease. These farms are found just about anywhere in Florida, and the climate for animal-related diseases is perfect, warm and humid, so it would be no surprise. Talk to a vet... they have to get immunized for all kinds of things.
