That's just it, Mud!
You hit upon something that's been bothering me.
We have so many people now on FR and so much info to try to assimilate, that we don't get to know each other.
Only in retrospect do we get to know what wonderful people they really are because there are threads devoted to them.
I don't know any solution, but I'm going to try to do a better job of getting to know people before something like this happens.
I knew CHIEF because we FReeped each other and because we both were Marines.
But there are a lot of wonderful people on FR with whom I don't have those ties who contribute a lot to my life.
It's to those that I'd like to say, "Thank you for being here."

Thass right, we are a big family, COB1!

And our one purpose in life is to restore the U.S. Constitution.

We must take Herb's untimely death as a signal -- Argue as we may, our goal is unchanged -- FReedom!

And to do that, We the People must take control of "They, the government!" We the People must persevere in exercising our God given Rights to control our government.

It is, after all, OUR GOVERNMENT!"

Ours is supposed to be a government "of, by and for the people." It is not; our government is a government of, by and for the government.

Our best rememberance of Herb Meadows is to renew our commitment to restore our government to one that respects and is respectful of the maxim that ". . . Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, . . . ."

That will be Herb's enduring legacy -- we must continue to work for returning our government to one that respects the Constitution. If we can do that, then we will have validated Herb's life.

I, for one, pledge to work to that end. Not only for Herb Meadows and his family, who knew full well what he was up to, but for my children and grandchildren, and all Americans.

I can think of no finer legacy to leave to those who follow behind us.

Very well said, my FRiend. When you see something like what happened to the CHIEF, it reinforces one's reluctance to share too much info on a Forum where so many people have access to the information. That's why I find it so important to attend as many FReepin' Events as I possibly can, because there's nothing like shaking someone's hand and looking them in the eye to engender Trust (plus, FReepin's a HOOT!!)

So, for all you Keyboard Patriots out there, Reach Out and FReep Someone!!

FReegards and thank you for your Service to this Country...MUD
