With Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff For the story behind the story...

Sunday Nov. 11, 2001; 12:37 p.m. EST Hillary Blames 9/11 Attack on Bush Tax Cuts

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton said Saturday that she blames the Bush administration's tax cut program for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that leveled the World Trade Center and destroyed part of the Pentagon.

"If we hadn't passed the big tax cut last spring, that I believe undermined our fiscal responsibility and our ability to deal with this new threat of terrorism, we wouldn't be in the fix we're in today," Clinton told CNN's Jonathan Karl.

In addition to undermining the country's ability to deal with terrorist attacks, Clinton said the Bush tax cuts worsened the economic downturn in the wake of Sept. 11.

"We had eight years of prosperity because we paid down our debt and we got rid of our deficit," she complained. "We hit a rough spot, and it was turned into a terrible bump because of the attacks of September 11."

Clinton also criticized the economic stimulus package passed last month by the Republican controlled House of Representatives.

"I thought the plan passed by the House of Representatives was a fiscal disaster that would set our country back for years to come," the 2004 presidential hopeful said, adding, "I don't understand how they passed it with a straight face."

Clinton slammed Bush and congressional Republicans after telling CNN that "the fight against terrorism has to be such a united effort."

CNN's Karl did not ask Clinton about her husband's comments Wednesday, where he seemed to blame the 9/11 attacks on 19th Century U.S. slavery and the mistreatment of the American Indian.

She was also not queried on accounts by former White House insiders who say her husband was too preoccupied by his extra-marital liaisons to follow through on repeated promises to hunt down Osama bin Laden.

I don't know about anyone else, but it seems to me that the more either Clinton sinks into irrelevancy, the more repulsive, ignorant, self-aggrandizing and repugnant they both become.

If I were a lesser man, I'd almost feel sorry for them since both are so arrogantly oblivious to how much they are genuinely reviled and despised by mainstream America.

Their simpering, drooling sycophants in the news media are the only people who seem to be mesmerized and in utter awe of such monumentally disgusting megalomaniacs. It is indeed frightening that such influential people chose to elevate and honor such a cretinous slug like the junior Senator from the State of New York, who, knowing full well how completely and totally worthless she is, chooses to actually blame the current POTUS for the mass murder of thousands of fellow Americans (and New Yorkers).

I wish the rest of the country would wake up and scrape these dog droppings off the bottoms of their collective shoes.

I wish you were right. Unfortunately, there is no satire on NewsMax unless they insert some of their own feelings into an article. I would have preferred the Onion, though. Sometimes reality stinks!

This NewsMax headline appears to be extremely deceptive. When you read her quote, Hillary was not blaming the 9/11 attack on Bush's tax cuts. She was blaming the tax cuts for our supposed inability to deal with terrorist threats. And she thinks the tax cuts have left us in a fiscal mess that was greatly magnified by the 9/11 attack.

That is certainly a plausible (albeit totally incorrect, IMO) argument for her to make. But NewsMax tries to paint her as saying that the attacks would not have happened (or could have been prevented) except for the tax cuts.

Aren't there enough things to criticize Hillary for without blatantly misrepresenting her statements?

Trust me...I can read. You are right to a point, but not entirely. I don't think the headline nor the ensuing article are inflammatory as far as Hitlery is concerned.

She and her buffoonish spouse have done everything possible, without losing the support of their remaining shreeple, to undermine what President Bush has achieved as our leader during these trying past two months. Because of this, I believe we need to be informed of even somewhat veiled attempts to make the current administration look bad and attempts to lessen the impact of the Clintons' treasonous actions and declarations during and after theirs.

Is it too hard for this shithead to understand that the fiscal year runs Oct. through Sept. and the money used for any purpoted dealing with terrorism was already budgeted and so used before the tax cut? If not, this is the kind of stuff everyone should be repeating. The whole world needs to know how stupid this person is.

The point here is that the Democrate LOST the opportunity to BLAME Bush for the economy's faltering after 9/11.

The set up WAS... (and this is WHY she was SO bitter at his speech that she couldn't even bring herself to applaud at the "appropriate" times)

"My husband Bill did it all correctly on the economy, and IIIII, showed him the way, and IIIIIIII, should now be President in 2004!

Oh, they're gonna TRY and pin the recession on Bush, but they've LOST their TRUMP card...

"BIG TIME"...

Ha!

Due to my many visits by the SS I'll keep my remarks brief....

So we're all suprised Hitlery is a ventriliquist? Her lips move but she talks out her A$$. It is a genetic defect of all Clintons.... when not outright lying they are unable to say anything sane.

Next, it will be a vast something wing conspiracy (VSWC) that caused the attacks. This person makes me sick to my stomach and I wonder how 'anyone' in NY would even consider voting for her......
I wonder if she got approval from Eleanor in a recent seance to claim that someone else caused the 9-11 attacks?
This b----h is just simply unbelievable.........

I wish I didn't care what hill & bill have to say, but unfortunately, our enemies eat it up.

I think the terrorists perceptions of the US as weak and divided are a DIRECT RESULT of the Clinton's actions and words, and the media's complicity. And the terrorists' perception led DIRECTLY to the attacks of 9/11.
