Before his death about 12 years ago he did reveal some interesting things to me which justifies his perspectives on conspiracies.
For instance the Gulf of Tonkin Incident is not as we have been led to believe, yet all our historians might argue that point.
Not much in the way of politics was covered in that afternoon's 'deathbed' confessions; most of the conversation was much more personal in nature. However enough was shared about his insight that caused me to alert to the realities of information, disinformation, politics and wars.
I am no conspiracy theorist as defined by today's P/C crowd but I do question every news account, by whatever source, that is displayed.
With your experience in accident investigations you should also encompass in your philosophies that 'anything is possible'. After all, Murphy Rules. Accident investigators are chosen because of their abilities to think outside the box. Thinking outside the box requires one to ignore government spokesmen or the like. You must draw your own conclusions whether these conclusions see the light of day or not.
If you want a REAL challenge review the photographs of the Desert One (Eagle Claw Rescue Mission) and see if you can uncover the anomalies of the official reports. If you do I'd like to hear your conclusions.
I do believe that the two destroyers USS MADDOX and C. TURNER JOY did encroach on North Vietnams territorial waters to provoke something. Considering who was in power in the Oval Office those days, anything is possible.
That being said, I still don't think this aircrash is terrorist activity. It doesn't make any sense. Why only a small residential area? And this crap about stinger missiles ... is just that ... CRAP!
The point being, there are entirely too many fear mongers running amok on here, whipping people into a frenzy. When they succeed, they allow the terrorists to win.
I refuse to buy into fear. I will live my life on my terms, no one else's. I will wait patiently for the facts to emerge, then if it is proven to be terrorist related, then I will allow myself to be angry. This one appears to be an aircraft that just had a catastrophic mechanical failure. Many things will make an engine catch fire and explode, not just a bomb.
