This site is absolutely TOPS. Interesting discussions kept reasonably civil, a rarity on the internet. Some great wits on FR also some very smart, fascinating people. Many, many thanks to Jim Robinson and the Monitors who do so much to make it all happen (24 hours a day, too).

I have recently signed up to provide a regular monthly contribution. I would urge everybody else to do the same if they possibly can. Even if it's for a small amount. My own pledge is not huge by any means.

Thanks for the link. I didn't expect to learn anything, but I did: he says that one should write 1960s and not 1960's. I'm not sure why, though. But he also says "tricky use of its and it's". Tricky? For whom? It's means it is, plain and simple, just like what's means what is (or what has.) Oh well, perhaps he's trying to avoid discouraging the maroons.
