BUSH TO NAME JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AFTER LAWBREAKING ROBERT F. KENNEDY

“FRIEND” TED KENNEDY CONVINCED G.W. TO HONOR BROTHER

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the non-partisan public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government abuse and corruption, was astonished to learn today that President Bush intends to name the Justice Department after the late Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.

“The ethical and legal standards of the Bush administration will sink low if the President carries through with his plan of naming the nation’s top law enforcement agency after someone who spent his tenure in the Justice Department trampling on the civil rights of all Americans. It is widely known that Kennedy urged then FBI director J. Edgar Hoover to misuse FBI files to blackmail members of Congress to “overlook” his brother, President John F. Kennedy’s, affair with an East German spy. With the possible exception of John Mitchell and Janet Reno, I cannot think of a worse choice,” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel, Larry Klayman.

The Justice Department’s own mission statement says “the Department represents the citizens of the United States in enforcing the law in the public interest” and, yet, Kennedy is perhaps remembered most for three things, the ‘Get Hoffa’ campaign, which ran roughshod over all legal procedures in a personal vendetta against one man, the wiretapping of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., along with the aforementioned silencing of a congressional investigation into President John Kennedy’s affair with alleged East German spy Ellen Romisch.

Yankee legend Joe DiMaggio reportedly refused to shake Kennedy’s hand at Marilyn Monroe’s funeral because of his belief that he and his brother had something to do with her untimely death. Klayman opined, “Joltin’ Joe was right then and George W. Bush is wrong now. As for reports today in The Washington Post that George W. Bush has become a close friend of Senator Ted Kennedy- a politician who many believed murdered Mary Jo Kopeche and was instrumental in convincing Bush to name the Justice Department after his brother Robert…the President should learn to choose better people to be associated with,” Klayman added.

Look, koddo, you are all of 19 years old, you have only been on FR for 8 months, and your abject lack of knowledge about Larry Klayman ( not to mention a passle of other things ) is stupendous. Larry had a lot of people fooled. He is nothing but a shister / ambulance chaser, who has NEVER won / proven a case against Clinton. He has now taken on President Bush, where there isn't even any " smoke " !

I doubt that like the rest of us, you have been innudated, for close to a decade now, with begging letters from Larry. Yhe money, that has supported his grandeliquent lifestyle, and done absolutely NOTHING , comes / came from those whom he bamboozled, like a crooked T.V. evangalist. he is a FRUAD !

Where is Judicial Watch getting their donations from now? My husband and I used to send them money and we regret it now. I'm certain we're not the only conservatives who've dropped their support of Klayman.

LARRY KLAYMAN dinigrates America and its President for the sake of the Almighty Buck.

In KLAYMAN'S own words, he mounts the attack:

American prestige and power has been significantly reduced. Our timidity to act decisively, coupled with the populace's fear of the unknown, has brought the country to its knees. This sad fact cannot be overlooked simply because tearful Americans proudly and correctly display their flag in exhibitions of love for the country and our fallen brothers and sisters.

The U.S. military, hamstrung by the political calculus of the Bush administration's "proportionate response" to the World Trade Center and Pentagon bombings – all in an attempt to placate so-called moderate Arab states who supply American tycoons with imported oil – has in characteristic "Vietnamesque" fashion spewed forth propaganda about how well the air war is going.

Rebeckie, do you stand beside Klayman and support these charges he makes against our President ?

deport, that is the picture.

Can't you just see and hear GW, saying, "Teddy, I'm going to name the New Justice Building after you, but you all have to be buried first!"

So it's OK for Bush to name the Justice Department after a corrupt man? Why?

"I find it hard to believe that I constantly have to defend Larry, a fellow conservative, on a conservative forum."

That should be your very first clue. So far, I don't see a lot of investigative reporter in your blood.

But then again, Larry ain't much of an attorney.

Has it crossed your mind that Larry's Press Releases are not addressing any illegal actions, or corruption in the part of Bush? This is a political move by the White House, Larry's "Press Release", is actually closer to left-wing political lobbying and/or fund raising, than what he claims to be JW's "mission".

Unless of course, you or Larry can find something illegal about naming a building in DC after a dead politician.

Oh big deal. This is nothing.

Allowing the corrupt Clinton appointees and hires in the federal alphabet agencies to keep their jobs was OK.

Moving on without investigations, moving on without cleaning up the mess these corrupt Clinton followers have made of our national and international security was OK.

Stem cell decision was OK.

The "Patriot Act" was OK.
Bob Barr doesn't think so... do you now also despise him for not drinking the koolaid??

The naming of our Justice Department after a man who didn't give one damn about justice is OK, too?

And now it's become quite the sport to trash, insult and shout down those on Free Republic who question just what the hecl is going on with Bush's decisions...

If Clinton was doing this stuff, we wouldn't be accepting it; we would be asking questions, making phone calls, shouting in the streets. But he's gone now and our guy is in the White House, and we're to sit down, shut up and drink the koolaid.

Sorry, I won't do that. If I see something being done that is wrong, I'm gonna say so. And I'm glad that there are still a few people who are willing to do the same.

That's not what's happening!!! Please read more carefully. It's about the possibility of naming a Justice Dept. building after RFK, not the whole department. Chill!

You do realize, don't you, that from the other side it appears that the new "sport" is to trash George W. Bush with any and all accusations, whether they are true or not, don't you?

If Clinton was doing this stuff, we wouldn't be accepting it; we would be asking questions, making phone calls, shouting in the streets. But he's gone now and our guy is in the White House, and we're to sit down, shut up and drink the koolaid

You aren't, by any chance, insinuating that Bush as done anything CLOSE to the crimes Bill Clinton committed, are you?

Do you want to investigate George W. Bush because he has committed CRIMES, or because you personally don't agree with him?

There will , unfortunately, always be UNAPPEASABAES , on FR, who will find fault ( where there is none ) with a Republican . They are known as the fringers, and / or the tinfoil hatters. Their choice of parties garner few votes for good reasons, and their candidates will NEVER become president of the USA.
