Happy are they (Song of Praise Vanity)
Bible | David

Posted on 11/19/2001 9:05:15 AM PST by Mother Abigail

1
Hallelujah!
Praise the LORD, O my soul! *
I will praise the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

2
Put not your trust in rulers, nor in any child of earth, *
for there is no help in them.

3
When they breathe their last, they return to earth, *
and in that day their thoughts perish.

4
Happy are they who have the God of Jacob for their help! *
whose hope is in the LORD their God;

5
Who made heaven and earth, the seas, and all that is in them; *
who keeps his promise for ever;

6
Who gives justice to those who are oppressed, *
and food to those who hunger.

7
The LORD sets the prisoners free;
the LORD opens the eyes of the blind; *
the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down;

8
The LORD loves the righteous;
the LORD cares for the stranger; *
he sustains the orphan and widow,
but frustrates the way of the wicked.

9
The LORD shall reign for ever, *
your God, O Zion, throughout all generations.
Hallelujah!

Psalm 146

Good.

Your work on Mutant Theory has a number of questions that are yet to be proven or disproved. But one thing has bothered me from my first reading, Can you define Homo Sapien Serendipitous? I assume you created the term - if so, how did you settle on the nomenclatura?

Thanks for your time.

Homo Sapien = Wise Man

Homo Sapien Sapien = The Wisest of the Wise Men

Homo Sapien Serendipitous = The Wise Man with the Prehensile Mind

Prehensile: Gifted with mental grasp or moral or aesthetic perception

That part was easy. I may need to think a bit on the second part of your question....

Abby,

In all honesty, I have no specific recollection (a wonderful term I learned from Fawn Hall) of the decision making process.

I know that there was no other terminology under consideration. It may be trite to say that "It just came to me", but that's my story and I am sticking to it.

Mother Abigail, returning home from holiday, picks up her mail and turns on the puter.

Reading the screen - She laughs, and types:

"It just came to me"

Oh child, I do love your honesty. Have you read any of my essays on Precognition? They were posted on the Mutant Underground last summer.

Sorry to say but I didn't get a chance to read them. Last summer I was very busy with my day job.

I will try to find them and take a look..

Mother Abigail (working on her garden and thinking about Israel) catches the last few words of a very long Pink Floyd song.

Singing to herself:

"Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far. Shine on you crazy diamond. Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there. Shine on you crazy diamond. And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph, and sail on the steel breeze. Come on you boy child, you winner and loser, come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine! "

She says aloud to her severely pruned rose bushes - "That's not very subtle".

Walks into the den turns on the puter and returns to the moment.

It is not really important. Events seem to be overtaking this discourse.

Let me move quickly to the heart of things. Can you, in simple terms, explain to me how you tied Schizophrenia, Autism and Clairvoyance into one theory?

Mother Abigail stops at the gate, looks back over her garden still brown and resting from the winter and smiles.

Loading luggage into the Airport Shuttle she says in her genteel voice: "Funny how time slips away...."

I watch the place where she once was, turn and walk away alone.

TOPIC:
WHAT IS THE NATURE OF MAN

FOCUS:
IS THE HUMAN SPECIES CONTINUING TO EVOLVE

POINT:
VARIATIONS WITHIN OUR SPECIES

From Neanderthal to Cro-Magnon to Elvis we have changed. While there have been some changes to the facial features and skulls of man - those are not the developments that have rocked this world.

It is the evolution of man's cognitive ability or perception that has "fast-tracked" Homo Sapien to the role of dominant species.

HUMAN PERCEPTION

HUMAN PERCEPTION
Evolutionary Differentation In Cognitive Function
I am responsible for the work that follows.
Ronnal
ABRASTACT

An examination of the cognitive perception of the human species reveals a wide spectrum of differentation. Like any biological variation, some prove to be benifical to the individual and others prove damaging or even fatal.

Autism, scitzophrenia, savantism (i.e. eidetic memory) and precognition may all be viewed as variations in perceptial abilities.

  Homo Sapien Sapien has risen to be the dominate species on Earth by natural selection of those individuals with more benificial cognitive skills.

A careful examination of those perceptual skills which have been most benificial to mans virtual domination reveals:

  • 1. There has been a small amount of advancement in three-diminsional ability. The dexterity necessary to paint on cave walls and fashon stone tools has not, in large measure, been radically improved.

  • 2. Sensory function such as smell, vision and hearing are difficult to quantify, but improvements, if they exist at all, are small. Some might even argue for a diminishing of ability.

  • 3. It is the realm of fourth-diminsional perception where the human species has focused its evolutionary development.

HUMAN PERCEPTION
Evolutionary Differentation In Cognitive Function

ABRASTACT
"The level of understanding past and present determines the possible level of understanding the future. Non-conscious effects of the past, as produced by classical conditioning, can result in same-level anticipations of future (e.g. Pavlov's dogs salivated before meat powder was present). Conscious awareness of past episodes, however, can result in an awareness of potential future episodes. Mental time travel into the future may be achieved through extrapolation from similar past episodes (prediction by analogy) or, more important for the understanding of humans' extraordinary impact on the world over the last 10,000 years, through the application of semantic knowledge (prediction by theory) about the laws that govern nature."

Thomas Suddendorf

1994

Man has self-awarness. Man is aware of the dimension of time and can "mentally time travel" both to the past and future.

Events as remote as the crucifixion of Christ can be very important to us, and we even tackle questions about the extent of time itself by developing religious or scientific concepts like `genesis´, `big bang´ or `judgment day´. Indeed, most of what is written or talked about refers to something that has happened in the past or could happen in the future; the present appears to be just a brief segment passing from the future into the past. While life is always happening in this present, our cognition, emotion, motivation and behaviour is largely influenced by what we believe has happened or may happen. Humans can `mentally travel in time´; we can use our imaginations to represent events of past and future and reflect upon them.

* Savantism is a particular form of Autism that is characterized by the individuals ability to spontaneously perform musical, artistic, computational, athletic, or other kinds of skills at exceptional levels without benefit of instruction or practice. The incidence of savantism among the autistic population is about 10%.
