I believe that the founders wrote the Constitution and the Bill of Rights for the people of the country they were trying to create - this did not include the rest of the world.

I wonder what kind fo rights pre-historic man had before there ever was a society or government . . .

Our rights are not granted to us by virtue of our citizenship. They are natural rights which know no borders. At least that was the idea our founders had.

I agree with you that the Founding fathers' idea of rights was that everyone is born with the same natural rights. Therefore, in theory, people in Iran, Iraq, Afganastan have the same rights that we in the U.S. do. It is just that different governments supress rights differently. However, I don't think non-citizens deserve the same priviliges as American citizens. The ACLU does.

If you believe in those rights as God-given then they were always there. I didn't mean to say that our founders created our rights. They recognized those rights and wanted to protect us from government abusing them. So they put that protection into words.

So basically what you are saying is that, in fact, EVERYONE has the same inalienable rights. These were not rights given, but rather "are" by nature of being human. If this is the case, then because the Constitution does NOT grant rights, but rather protects natrual rights, then the Constitution applies to every man, woman, and child, regardless of citizenship. You cannot have it both ways my friend.
