Are you saying that you and your friends are exceptional, or that the white posters -- including myself -- who talked of their experiences, were lying? If the former is the case, good for you; if the latter is the case, then you are deluded. Stereotypes are sometimes based on hard-won experience.

BTW, your reference to tipping cabbies reminded me of when I lived in a black neighborhood, and shared cabs with hundreds of black riders. I could count on one hand the number of times I saw a black woman give a driver of any race a tip.

Like I said, my good black customers were the nicest people I'd ever want to meet, and I should point out that I have had to wait on some nasty whites as well. Especially old farts who think their coffee is cold when it could scald your tongue! Oh, and don't even get me started on fat, obese women who hate me cuz I'm 5'9" and thin! They will order like 3 eggs & bacon, toast, pancakes (with sugar-free syrup of course), a diet coke, a chocolate malt, and pie for dessert, and then split an order of fries with someone at their table! Oh, then there was the time that a table of Muslims threatened to start a class-action lawsuit because our pie crusts contained lard (godforbid) and the one pie crust that was graham cracker crust had jell-o in the pie! (haha!) Oh, and the Indian woman who threatened to sue because we didn't have her favorite soup one day and therefore we discriminated against the Anishinabe people! Or the creepy "promise keeper" dad who took his little girl who was a dead ringer for JonBenet Ramsey to the bathroom halfway through every meal. Hmmmmmmmm...I could go on forever.

We're in Lakeland, but we get the Tribune and the Ledger, and as I recall, there were three terrible abductions there, and people simply left!

There are many safer places to shop in Tampa, and the shoppers are armed-against-the bad guys now.

All the leftist-whining about gun-control didn't mean shit! The good-guys (read honest citizens) are packing heat now! The bad guys (read perps) are nervous!

The so-called 'Criminal-Justice-System' doesn't keep the criminals in jail, where they belong, so now, it's up to the citizenry!

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT "FREAKNIK " IS......IT'S THE BIGGEST X-RATED SPRING BREAK PARTY IN THE U.S. WHERE YOU CAN FIND FREAKY THINGS GOING ON IN THE STREETS ALL OVER THE CITY.  IT'S KINDA LIKE A "BLACK" MARDI GRAS. 

AT ITS PEAK THERE WERE OVER 500,000 VISITORS TO ATLANTA FOR THIS ONE EVENT AND EVENTUALLY IT GOT OUT OF CONTROL. THERE WERE REPORTS OF GIRLS GETTING RAPED ON THE STREET, LOOTING, AND RIOTS.  FREAKNIK HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN BANNED BY THE MAYOR OF ATLANTA BECAUSE OF THE X-RATED BEHAVIOR OF THE PEOPLE THAT ATTEND FREAKNIK.

 THIS HASN'T COMPLETELY STOPPED FREAKNIK BUT IT HAS SLOWED IT DOWN IN ATLANTA DUE TO THE LARGE POLICE PRESENCE. SO NOW FREAKNIK HAS MOVED TO OTHER STATES INCLUDING DAYTONA BEACH, TEXAS AND ARIZONA.

That said, Freaknik was a disaster for Atlanta the years it was here, as you observe. And BTW, "Black College Reunion" is a politically correct euphemism for Freaknik, which is basically an excuse for public drunkeness and debauchery on the part of younger blacks. Do white college students on spring break ever get out of line? Sure. But nothing like what was going on with Freaknik. Heck, even the black City of Atlanta administration couldn't run that circus out of town quick enough.

Very sad. We were at Westshore Mall last Thursday, and even there, the FAO Schwarz was leaving. The new International Mall is only a few blocks away and that may also be contributing to the decline. It's very upscale and one wonders what will happen if that place gets trashed.

The story about Tampa Bay Mall I heard was that there had been a football game at the Stadium between two black colleges. The Tampa Bay Mall (right across the street) got trashed by game attendees and the mall closed...for good. The only store left last week was Sears and it's leaving, too.

I guess the Jesse and Al crowd figure they'll get their reparations one way or another.
