Dem Intel Chairman Graham Slams British Press for Blaming Clinton

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Bob Graham (D-Fl) sought to deflect criticism of ex-President Clinton on Sunday, and instead complained that a report in the Times of London contending that Clinton passed up three opportunities to apprehend 9/11 terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden was not credible.

"One thing we've learned is to be a little skeptical of these London-based news accounts," Graham told "Fox News Sunday's" Tony Snow. "There have been a whole series of these - most of which on examination have been found to be without substance."

"So I'm not prepared to give them an initial presumption of credibility," Graham added.

But the powerful Democrat, who would play a key role in upcoming hearings into the 9/11 attacks, was forced to back down when reminded that numerous U.S. reports had also revealed that Clinton blew several chances to get bin Laden.

(Snow co-host) BRIT HUME: Well Senator, you have some knowledge of this as the intelligence chairman and must have known at the time, or must now be able to know, what went on during that period.

You know who Monsoor Ijaz is - he's been talking about this in this country for some weeks now. What do you make of the opportunity that he described and that some journalists in this country have described that the Clinton administration had to get bin Laden and for whatever reason passed up?

GRAHAM: What I think we're learning is that, while we have had a professed war on terrorism for a number of years - at least going back into the mid-1990's - that we have not made it the priority that it has got to be in order to achieve the objective against people who are as evil and as capable as we've found al Qaeda to be. (End of Excerpt)

Still, despite his retreat, Graham suggested it wouldn't be productive to investigate the Clinton administration's failure to stop bin Laden.

"What we need to do is to keep our eye clearly focused on our objective, which is the elimination of global terrorism, avoid the temptation to be drawn into settling old scores and side events....," he told "Fox News Sunday."

Not only that, it's an very old and tired argument. Anyone remember that 331 page report the Clinton White House put out early in the administration in an attempt to debunk any scandal stroy about them? Their theory was that scandal stories would start out on the Internet, get reported by the British press and then reprinted by "the right wing press in America", like the Washington Times and such...

Clinton, and those who harbored him, killed thousands of Americans. The WTC survivors should sue them for CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE.

Thanks for posting this!

Six years ago this summer, we were in the UK.

At that time the London Times was publishing reports that we did not hear about re the Moniker Licker, Clintoon, until we got the Drudgereport and other internet sites!

We were over there for 2 weeks, and it was with great pleasure that each morning, I would walk down to the local little store for some Devon Cream, that morning's pastries/ scones and the London Times!

The London Times nailed this sleazy criminal pretending to be our president, then. The NY Slimes was spiking these stories then, and they and the other left wing maggot fishwraps are still spiking the stories. Nothing has changed. The DemonicRats own the left wing maggots who control our media, and they will cover their clymers like Clintoon regardless of the danger to Americans!

The biggest lesson to all of us is the danger that these left wing anti American Senators like Graham, Biden, Torricelli, Leaky Leahy, Hilldebeast, Chifi Boxer, Da$$hole and _____________ (fill in your local left wing maggot senator) represent to America/Americans when they are in control of the senate. Graham being the intel chairman is a nightmare!

We must defeat enough demonicRats in November 2002 to give the republicans a majority in 2003.

Having anti Americans like Leaky Leahy, Graham, Biden and Torricelli messing with our intel to cover Clintoon's clymer and their own clymer is far more dangersous than OBL being alive!

The Democrats will defend Bubba only because everybody knows that the vile and vicious Bubbette is waiting in the wings to take her own 'run' for the Presidency.

Bill Clinton is the most corrupt 'president' in U.S. history and his legacy is turning the Democratic Party into an organised criminal conspiracy. His 'wife' is his major co-conspirator in many crimes, large and small, including violent rape ....

The is no difference between the 'New Democrats' and the National Socialist Party in German in 1933. The Clintons are not Communists but they are Socialists .... they are following the agenda which is written in 'The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.' [Which, by all accounts, is Bubba's favorite book].

For a Democrat to admit that Clinton allowed bin Laden to plot terrorist attacks resulting in the deaths of thousands of Americans, would be to destroy the 'Cult of Personality' which is driving the DNC.

The DNC ought to be dismantled under the RICO Act, but, politics being what it is today, that will never happen.

Sure. What was it called? "The Communication Stream of Conspiracy Consciousness" -- something like that. One of Hillary's ideas?

I've seen that "putty-tat" before...
"If you don't get that right how can we trust anything else they say."
What?
"Oops...they were right, but I'll never admit it."
