SECAUCUS, NJ- January 7, 2002- Former Presidential Candidate and Reagan-era U.S. Ambassador at the United Nations, Alan Keyes has joined MSNBC as host of a new one-hour commentary show, “Alan Keyes Is Making Sense,” weeknights at 10PM, ET. Erik Sorenson, president and general manager, MSNBC, made the announcement today.

Alan's deep knowledge, incredible capacity to frame debate, and provocative views will be a great addition to an already-terrific primetime lineup.”

“Alan Keyes Is Making Sense” is a live one-hour talk show providing in-depth analysis and commentary on the issues of the day from politics, economics to the various cultural hot buttons. The program will originate from Washington, D.C.

Good! I have a feeling that this show is going to go over very well. Frankly, I am excited that such an eloquent spokesman for our cause will have a national stage to "show his stuff" on.

If there is an audience left in America for Constitutional values and conservative principles, Dr. Keyes will energize them -- and hopefully convert some naysayers to our cause.

It is about restoring the Constitution, and I can't think of a better spokesman to get that message out than Dr. Keyes.

Hiya, RonDog! Please see post #102 for the rough outline of the show's format. The start is two weeks from today, and the first show is already set, my friend. It's not the usual news-driven format, but you'll get the idea after you see a couple of shows.

As always, I wish Rev. Peterson the very, very best success with his efforts! I was there for the repudiation of Rev. Jackson last year!

Hugs.

RINOs are most of the Pub Party, not Keyes, you know da_n well. Only Keyes who won every presidential debate affords the opportunity to change the likes of you into Constitutionally-grounded Republicans, and not followers of the lies of Weasel Daschle in his recent subversive interpretations of the Constitution.

David Horowitz compares him to Mussolini too. So lets see, that's 2 pretty well known conservatives

Oooh ... may take one to know one but you're in serious Bimbo Territory now, baby.

Horowitz is an opportunist, plain and simple, who's playing an integral part in making the GOP feel Clever and Excused (after all, it's OUR turn now) for choosing all the WRONG pages from the Left's playbook.

His almost visceral reaction to Dr. Keyes during his first townhall (back when this forum was not quite so chock full of Enthusiasts) was practically a foreshadowing of what you all have turned into.

Keyes is not a problem because he's self-serving or criticizes Bush or refuses to leave the GOP even if he's going to criticize it as well.

Keyes is a problem for you all for he stands as a buoy all can see in the distance ... marking the ever-widening expanse between the GOP and the objective truth the GOP has been compromising in earnest as it abandons the Constitution, abandons the fight to overturn the Mother-Only Right to Homicide and cheers the President's Clintonesque decision to provide no funding for the "destruction" of embryonic human lives but only those which had "already been killed".

In your hearts -- and you consciences ... we all have one -- you know good and well that's why you attack him so viciously. If he really were all the things you say he is, he would be UTTERLY irrelevant.

Do you see a "relevant" anti-war movement or criticism of the administration today? There aren't any. It's Un-Patriotic.

I wish you all would just drift in peace and allow this man to spark some consciences where he can. Many of us would rather go down knowing how precious life is rather than just sort of fading to Grey in the Area of moral relativism and "war-time" powers which are obliterating forever what's left of our Constitution and exiling to another world entirely the letter and spirit of our Declaration.

Well that sure was a lot of babblin there bimbo...

As Horowitz writes The summary event I mentioned took place during a debate in the New Hampshire contest, moderated by Tim Russert. It was a moment when the redoubtable Keyesa preacher without a church stepped forward to call Sen. McCain to judgment. McCain's mortal sin was to reveal that he had been to a rock concert with his fifteen-year-old daughter and had liked a band called Nine Inch Nails.

In New Hampshire, McCain's misstep allowed Keyes to turn his lamp of righteousness on his hapless opponent.

Keyes (sternly): Don't you think that as leaders we ought to be a little bit more serious about the kind of influences that are now destroying the lives of our children, instead of aiding and abetting the cultural murder that is taking place?

McCain (to Russert): Can I get a life-line? (laughter)

Russert: Who do you want to call?

McCain: My 15-year-old daughter. (laughter)

Keyes (glowering): I'm a father and I've got to tell you I'm not laughing.

It was as if Keyes had caught the Senator making whoopie with the Antichrist.

While I'm no fan of McLame's, I remember the exchange and all I could do is shake my head and laugh. What a pompous little jerk.

When I was fifteen I went to Led Zeplin, The Who, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, etc etc concerts in in New Orleans and I turned out alright.

The Keyster is a just a mean spirited little idiot.

Well, thank you VinnyTex...that's 2 or 3 bumps for you now, too. LOL---are y'all trying to catch up with harpu? Some kind of contest or whatnot? It's just wonderful how you support Dr. Keyes (in spite of an occasional lapse in judgment).

Shall we work really hard for that 1,000 post goal? Who knows....if it goes fast, we may even set a new target, say 2,000....will certainly appreciate the help at that time, as well, and you can be assured I'll get the attention of others to let them know about your willingness to help out the conservative cause.

Bless your lil' old heart now and keep bumping....don't let the computer viruses take you down. :)

No doubt the show will start off stong, but I think Keyes will be hard pressed in time to continue to offer fresh and substantive material.

The job of coming up with new and substantive guests will belong to his producer. If he has a good one, Dr. Keyes will do at least a good a job as they do on Nightline.

MSNBC is trying to find a chink in Bush's armor.

There is no evidence that Microsoft and NBC have ceased to desire to make money. They know that the typical GOP tv watcher has more money to spend then the typical liberal. They want to get the money (by proving to advertisers that they are selling their products). This is an attempt to cash in on a successful market which FOX has been monopolizing. While they may be devoted lefties, what they really worship is their paychecks.

Good point. Someone else pointed that out to me at work. But even with a good producer, that puts a tremendous pressure on the host to be on that frequently, and still achieve some depth.

That's a rough outline.

Wow, CAL, sounds a bit like Nightline with more joe citizen participation. Do you know if their is any chance that this show will be shown on CNBC also, like so much MSNBC, I get CNBC, not MSNBC.
