Why would it not be free?
Market share resides in Microsoft products...you have do to something when your on the (Linux)bottom.
p.s. Apple has 5% and Linux products are at 3%,

Thanks! These things are really cool on the floor of my truck with the under-dash neon lights hitting them! Way cool!

Anyone else having trouble trying to confirm the order once they've entered all the information. It's returning a "Page not found" error.

Perhaps those here that can't order something for free from a web page should take the prerequisite course - Windows for Dummies?
(I'm running from this thread as fast as I can!)

I ordered it thanks.
Actually, in the late '70s, early '80s computer companies gave away operating system and layered product manuals. Heck, I remember when service stations gave away maps and shaver companies gave away shavers!

According to the description for their other Proliant/Linux course (#800), these freebies are for people that are employed by Compaq or an authorized Compaq Business Partner...
Who Should Attend This training and information solution is for system engineering professionals (working directly for Compaq or an authorized Compaq Business Partner) who present, demonstrate, discuss, or service Compaq ProLiant Servers using the Linux operating system.
Also, from the bottom of the order page for course #2805:
Compaq cost center for Compaq employees only. Please enter in your 10 character cost center. Should you have any problems with your cost center, please contact: NACURRICULUM@COMPAQ.COM
I do not believe this offer has been made available to the general public at no cost.

Just received my course materials. Two boxes, probably 15 pounds all together, included study guides, instruction manuals, two t-shirts, two highlighters and pens, and certificates for free testing for Compaq engineer certification. Also includes Redhat 7.1, and all sorts of Compaq admin tools on CDs. Don't know that I'll ever complete it, what with school and all, but now I have the stuff, and I can set up my own server here at home and play with it.
Hey, Britton...how'd you get that corporate XP to follow you home? I've been trying to talk our copies into it, but they're not listening and refuse to come out of the bosses office.
heh heh heh
