I don't want to get into an argument about whether being a hooker should be legal or not, but this sounds less like prostitution than it does abduction and rape.
Wow. When a feminist idealogue starts praising the US, look out! Something is seriously amiss. Personally, I find the whole article very easy to believe. I would imagine, after all, that the UN presence in Bosnia, et al. is mostly made up of enlightened Europeans. Who among them will stand to repudiate an evil like this? Perhaps old fashioned morals (if there were little demand, there would be little incentive) are not quite so quaint an idea after all.

The UN is simply preserving a time honored practice in Europe. You know, to the victors goes the spoils. Anyways, who are we to tell these people how to conduct their business? Why, we are just imposing our standards on another belief system. We should be more tolerant of other people's cultures. I'm sure the UN knows exactly what it's doing.
