It seems so fitting that not only the "Patriots" (USA) would be the champions, but also that they would defeat the "Rams", a symbol of the Medo-Persian (Iran) empire.
Patriots!!!

"Symbolic of Our Struggle Today?"
You bet! My 5th great-grandfather, Patriot Francis B. Way was up there cheering them on!

I would consider it odd that the Patriots or any other underdog team would win in this manner in prior years but this is 2002 and well...divine.

What does it mean when the Cheeseheads win? Is it Gouda or Badda?

St Louis, Missouri's team is 'symbol of the Medo-Persian (Iran) empire'? The Gateway Arch on the Mississippi is a symbol of militant Islam? I don't get it!!

Random, spurious fate.

My thing with the Patriots was the vindication of John Gruden and the Raiders...nothing more. The team that beat the Raiders won the Super Bowl.

No the name "Rams", as in the animal.

Don't know about symbolism but I bet they (The Patriots) will be able to make a fortune on promotions with their red, white and blue colors and name!!!!

Saying this as being a lifelong diehard Yankee fan, I would not consider Arizona's win an upset. I consider the Yankees beating Oakland and Seattle to get to the World Series an upset.
