I looked in the part of the Constitution that describes the responsibilities of the Executive Branch and failed to find the phrase "hiring manager."
Perhaps you could help me out here..
Sure. Which way did you come in?

It is interesting to point out that as hated as John McCain is on this website, he at least once said that Linda Tripp should be reinstated in the government...

Linda Tripp gossips about her employer,,I think that is why she isn't being hired. And if this determines anyone's vote, whether she gets hired or not by the executive branch, well I just have to,,,sigh.

I think I recall Tripp being involved in rumor spreading during the Bush-41 administration about GHWB having an affair with one of the admin staff.
And also remember that LOYALTY is a top criteria for the current Bush administration. So she's out (Linda Tripp)
To: watsonfellow
I think Linda Tripp a) spread some unfounded rumors about Bush I having an affair b) is not a team player and c) is also radioactive because hiring her would arouse and anger the democrats d) and I think there is no upside in that hiring her would not motivate republicans.
So it boils down to there is no political upside, there is a political downside, I'm not sure she has great talent or skill, I'm not sure why she can not catch on in the private sector either.

Is there nothing more pressing to worry about besides Linda Tripp being hired by President Bush? Seems rather inane to me.

I would give the reason but Jim told me not to once....

Who cares?

It was reported today that Linda Tripp has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
She gets screwed and the Clintons get to loot the White House with no consequences.
To: watsonfellow
Why does Linda even want to work for the government. I am sure with her experience she should be able to find employment in other fields. Maybe Lucianne could find her something.
To: watsonfellow
Well, how about she change her line of work? Government isn't everything, is it? There is all types of work a smart person can do. Most offices have computers these days. Stop crying and look for work, my advice to Linda Tripp.

Reason 1235 why I will not be fooled into voting for Bush again, some gentleman he is..... While Im sorry she has cancer, she is not a national icon, she is a national pariah. As for Bush, why should he hire a known malcontent, gossip, someone who could never be trusted in an environment that requires trust. Furthermore, if there is one thing that Bush despises it's those who leak info to the press. Bush owes her nothing.
If anyone owes her a job its those in the cottage industry that grew up around Whitewater. Why not give them hell? How about John Fund, he could use someone to keep him away from his girl friend? How about that nutcase and his legal foundation thats currently sueing Cheney? How about her good friend, Lucienne? Hell if you feel so strongly about it, why dont you hire her or get your company to hire her? She has strong secretarial skills and only wants a six figure salary plus plenty of time to gossip.

Looks like we've found the Achilles Heel of the Republican party in the next few elections. Better not let McAulliffe hear about his.
To: watsonfellow
Linda should do what any Republican would do when put out of work: FIND ANOTHER JOB. The classifieds are full of them.
Whining about how the government "owes" her something is for Rats.
To: watsonfellow
I think you are an idiot who knows nothing about politics or philosophy. You are laughable and I hope you post a million more responses because you are making me laugh soooooooooooooooooo hard. You said it!

I take back anything mean I may have said in another post here regarding Linda Tripp. I didn't know about her cancer. I'm very sorry for her.
To: watsonfellow
I feel bad for Linda Tripp. She's been ragged for her looks, made fun of on Saturday Night Live and other shows...Lost her job, Lost her home, Lost her benefits and NOW she gets Breast Cancer. Oh, and she WILL loose weight, but not the way most people want to.
After her extensive treatments for BC, she may be able to get another job, but it will be hell getting Medical Insurance for at least 5 years.
Also, it isn't likely she's going to get good job references. She is in bad shape. I wish her well.

Why is it President Bush's job to give Linda a job? It has nothing to do with either Linda's credentials or President Bush's ability to appoint anyone he wants. He does not have any obligation to her.
Now I think the World of Linda, and I think she is getting a raw deal.
I would hope that some conservative employer out there would give her a job suitable to her talents. But that is their decission to make, not yours. It certainly shouldn't be President Bush's place to ensure she is hired.
Maybe once you get out into the working world you will understand that deserving has nothing to do with getting hired. I'm sure Linda is well aware of that as well. With her computer skills, she could search for and find a job outside of the DC fishbowl (she did try and get a job in Germany, that the media hounded her out of).
But given her latest battle with the big "C", I suspect that her priorities have changed a bit. I wish her well in this battle and hope that the media will eventually let her fade into the obscurity that she desires.

First of all why is Linda Tripp still out of a job? This is very disheartening; are Republicans afraid of her? Reason 1235 why I will not be fooled into voting for Bush again, some gentleman he is..... Sorry, Watsonfellow, I appologise is advance. I have not seen reasons #1 through #1234. Could you please let us know what they are again, and document them all at the same time, for the benefit of the archives?
