Killing for God: Hal Lindsey highlights prophecies about current events
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | Wednesday, March 6, 2002 | Hal Lindsey

"… But an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God."
– Jesus Christ AD33 (John 16:2)

Jesus Christ predicted that in the last days leading to his return, there would be a great wave of persecution against Christians. The unique thing about this particular prediction is that those who murder Christians will believe they are following God's word and performing a religious duty for Him. This can apply to various religions, but none more than the Muslim religion.

Under the Islamic doctrine of Jihad, Muslims have begun a concerted slaughter of Christians in many parts of the world. The most vicious treatment is reserved for Muslims who convert to Christianity. In many cases, converts are killed by their own family. Many Muslim nations have laws that require the death penalty for converts.

Again, Jesus predicted about those days, "And at that time many will fall away and will deliver up one another and hate one another." (Matt. 24:11)

The Muslim religion is the most intolerant of any major religion in the world. Intolerance of other religions is a central part of their doctrine. It is particularly intolerant of Christians.

Muslim persecution of Christians is often not the kind of "persecution" one thinks of in the 21st century. We're not talking about denying Christians permission to vote, or harassing their churches, or denying them social equality – although all three, of course, apply.

Rather, we are talking about the kind of persecution in which a Christian is given a choice between renouncing Jesus Christ and seeing themselves or their loved ones mutilated and/or murdered.

In an open letter published the other day on WorldNet Daily, the head of Servant's Purse recounted a story in which Sudanese Christians who refused to renounce Christ had a three-inch nail driven into their skulls.

"Persecution" – in terms of what it means in the Sudan – is too horrible to put into words. In the Sudan, forced conversion to Islam is a matter of official state policy.

In Nigeria, wearing of turbans and veils by male and female students in post-primary institutions is mandatory – there are no exceptions. Fourteen church buildings have been slated for demolition by the state government. One third of the Nigeria's internal states have imposed Sharia law. In one state, Kaduna, more than 2,000 people were killed in Christian-Muslim riots linked to plans to introduce Islamic law there.

The U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights says:

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Muslims not only violate these human rights, their religion teaches that they should do so. A Christian is not supposed to even be allowed on the Arabian Peninsula. Non-Muslims are not allowed at all in Mecca.

In Saudi Arabia, all citizens must be Muslims. Wearing of Christian symbols, distribution, or even possession of Christian literature is a crime for which non-Muslims can be arrested, imprisoned, lashed and deported.

There are three Ethiopian Christians currently being held and reportedly tortured in the Saudi Breman Deportation Center. They were reportedly flogged 80 times with a metal cable while they were suspended in the air. They are charged with worshipping Christ in a private home.

An American missionary couple held hostage in the southern Philippines for eight months by the Muslim rebel group Abu Sayyaf live moment to moment under the constant threat of execution by decapitation.

The Koran commands, "Certainly you will find the most violent of people in enmity against those who believe to be the Jews and those who are polytheists." (Surah 5.82) Christians are called "polytheists" because of our faith in Jesus as God. This sets up Christians for persecution.

"So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make [them] prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom [themselves] until the war terminates." (Surah 47.4)

"So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful." (Surah 9.5)

"O Prophet! Strive [Fight] hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination." (Surah 9.73)

It is fascinating to read of U.S. efforts to accommodate the religious sensibilities of the detainees at Guantanamo Bay, and of the human rights groups complaining Washington isn't doing enough. It would seem to me their services are more urgently required elsewhere.

Okie, he may INDEED be right "in the natural" (as are many of us) but if, in the past, he has been wrong as a PROPHET, then no one can take seriously his words in THAT context. That's all I'm saying. The problem is, it is in THAT context, I think, that he has offered these "prophecies."

Lindsey's facts are right, and he has a right to draw his own conclusions from them. We can take them or leave them. So what's all the fuss about?

Let me throw something out at you---and you can look up the scripture because I hate scripture wars---but doesn't Jesus say to His followers THEN "no man KNOWS the hour or the day?" Just food for thought, does this not leave open the door that some at some FUTURE point might know the hour or day? He didn't say, "no one will ever know" or "no one at the time will know." In every other instance of judgment or wrath, God has given immediate prophetic warning to His people to escape (see: Passover). Dunno, I don't see a conflict with genuine prophets being given revelation.

As for the "thief in the night" scripture, that could just as easily be a reference to UNBELIEVERS, not to believers.

Yesss, Islam is SUCH a peaceful religion. More info on what Islam is really like is on cbn.org. A former Muslim cleric turned Christian tells it like it is. It's a satanic religion bent on destroying Jews and Christians alike because God has a plan for us and satan is very angry. he will do anything to destroy us and our Jewish brothers and sisters.

I disagree, LS. I believe a great move of God is in the near future and HE will anoint the former whining, weak Christians and forge a unity between us that we cannot do ourselves. It's impossible for us to do it but nothing is impossible for God. 911 began something here in our nation, a turning to God, which WOULD NOT have happened had not 911 happened. We are going to have a great revival and people and nations will be changed. Do not rely on what you can see. Rely on what God and the angels in heaven are about to do. We ain't seen nothin' yet! Hallelujah! (We will eventually move toward the end time prophecies and things will not go well for Christians, but first we will be revived and we WILL carry out God's purposes for this nation and for the middle east.)

Another note: God is going to use our children and teens to bring about revival and evangelism. THAT is why satan is so intent on destroying them (Yates and others). We need to continually pray for our kids, our grandchildren and other young people we know, especially for protection.

Let's all take a moment and pray for Martin and Gracia Burnham.

I came to know the Lord through books like Hal's and through films about the end times, etc. It literally "scared the hell out of me." I've been interested in eschetology ever since, although I believe in the pre-wrath rapture of the church and not pre-trib or mid-trib. Guess we'll find out when we get there, huh?

I believe we will know when the time comes for God always speaks through his prophets to warn his people. As the time draws closer, the intercessors and prophets will know. Look on the Elijah List and see all the prophecies coming forth regarding Israel and the mid east, Verry interesting.

John 16:1-3
"These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.

Acts 6:8-15
And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedmen (Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and those from Cilicia and Asia), disputing with Stephen. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke. Then they secretly induced men to say, "We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God."
And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they came upon him, seized him, and brought him to the council. They also set up false witnesses who said, "This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place and the law; for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us." And all who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel.

Acts 7:54-60
When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"
Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.
And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not charge them with this sin." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

From #55

I have in front of me a copy of the front cover of a booklet made available in 1998. The booklet is entitled Emergency Response To Terrorism, with subtitles "Basic Concepts-Instructor Guide." It also has the logos of the U.S. Justice Department, FEMA and the United States Fire Administration on it. The amazing thing about this official booklet is that the front cover also features a drawing of the southern skyline of Manhattan with crosshairs of a sight trained on the very spot of the south World Trade Center tower where the airplane hit. The crosshairs are not dead center on the tower but off center on the very spot where the plane struck it 39 months later. (1) In the occult, the number 39 is known as Baal's number, because it is three 13's.

Well, if Jesus is in heaven, then the ONLY way the enemies can be made His footstool is by us---His BODY---on earth,

I respectfully beg to differ.

2Ki 19:35 reminds us that a single angel (under Gods authority) can "cap" at least 185,000 soldiers per night.

Dear Gal, America is in the bible, but dont pay anyone for that information its only mentioned as a symbol in Daniel chapter 7 " the lion with egales wings " a lion symbolizes England and if Im not mistaken a winged lion is used on much english hearldry, yes? Well the lions wings are plucked this symbolizes the U.S. coming out of England and was given a heart or mind of a man( symbolizing us as the only nation to rebuild its enemies after conquering them). The U.S. is also mentioned in Revelation as the Great Egales Wings which shelter the woman(israel) in chpt13 or 14 i think. But no other mention of the us is made I think that we will be destroyed by the army of 200 thousand thousand which is china(Mao boasted in his diary that he could field an army of that size) You should not pay for prophecy just read it for yourself if you dont agree fine !
