Your problem is a man named Eric Schmidt:
Elton John helps raise money for Gore
Flamboyant rock star Elton John, making his first foray into American politics after three decades of performing in the United States, endorsed Vice President Al Gore at a ritzy Silicon Valley fund-raiser. ... The fund-raiser, at the home of Novell Corp. Chief Executive Eric Schmidt, raised $3.25 million for the Democratic National Committee.

Google Taps Its Chairman as CEO
The chairman of popular net search company Google, Eric Schmidt, 46, added CEO to his title on Aug. 6. The ex-CEO of Novell (NOVL ) will guide the company, now one of the 15 most-visited Web sites, through some pivotal business milestones.

Don't worry: He ruined Novell; it's only a matter of time before he does the same to Google.

Here's what I did: I searched for "Second Amendment". Then I went to the bottom of the page, and hit "help us improve". So any comment will show up under "Second Amendment." Then I wrote this:

You people have gone one step too far. I refer to your refusal to display advertisements from Bowmans Brigade because the ads were--in your opinion--related to guns. Even an ad for dehydrated food was pulled.

I suppose you have not been following what happened to Dell when they refused to sell a computer to a pistolsmith because his company's name contained the word "Combat". It is about to happen to YOU.

You have lost my business. I will never do another search through Google, and if I ever have anything to advertise, it will not be with you.

Some of us value the Second Amendment, and we will not give our custom to ANYONE who seeks to devalue it. And that goes for the First Amendment too.

A gentle nudge from a few thousand of us can make folks rethink their position. I'm with you.

Hi, boris.... I've had reservations about google, which I have used a lot, due to allegations of their anti-RKBA leanings.

They also recently seem to have inhibited "deep" searches of Free Republic- I can't get the hundreds or thousands of hits I used to- so I'm trying other engines, and to H@ll with 'em!

He ruined Novell

Let me substantiate that. As far as I can tell, Schmidt became CEO of Novell in April of 1997, and resigned as CEO in March of 2001. Novell's stock lost about half of its value during that period [and that's not even adjusting for inflation]:

At the same time, the NASDAQ very nearly doubled:
If you read his biography at Google, you will learn that he is a political junkie who never tires of debating the great issues of our day. This guy knows exactly what he is doing. What I don't understand is why the Clinton/Gore cronies who destroy these companies [Ken Lay (Enron), Gary Winnick (Global Crossing), and Schmidt himself], aren't in jail - or, if not in jail, why they keep getting these cushy appointments in the business world.

Will Google refuse business from porno advertisers?

The article says:

I think it is vitally important for gun owners to keep in mind that the non-gun ads were deleted precisely because there are gun related parts and knives on our website. Although other advertisers are allowed to run ads for night vision and dehydrated food just like us - these same ads were deleted, only because we also sell pistol barrels and knives. While Google allows ads for "pornography" and "sex" ads, perfectly legitimate and wholesome websites promoting activities such as firearms ownership, use or products are banned. To appease Google, website that have "acceptable" products would have to drop their "unacceptable" product lines. Google prefers "pornography" over "pistol barrels".
I don't personally know what Google advertises, but it looks like the author has seen or researched what Google does allow.

Hey people - I am a gun owner and think knives are pretty messy - guns are cleaner; however, a private search engine has a right to advertise what they please. There are a lot of good search engines out there. Gosh, let freedom reign. Everybody doesn't have to agree with us, do they? Try another search engine - get a life!!

That could be an issue with FR too, does FR give Google a feed of their new stories for them to spider and index? With a lot of new articles appearing google might not catch them all.
Or Google wants FR to start using their custom services. I wouldn't mind donating money to FR just for that purpose.
