Does he promote celibacy?
It said on his web site he did Jesuit studies in Los Gatos? Los Gatos, California?

Another telling item from David Birchall's web page:
"David qualified as a massage therapist at San Francisco School of Massage."
Need we say more?

"It needs another Luthur" No, it certainly doesn't need another Luther. Luther tried to make changes by attacking those he thought guilty of abuse. He succeeded in making changes which brought about the worst disunity in Christendom ever.
What the Church could use is another St. Francis of Assisi. The Church of his time (1200's) was just as corrupt as the Church at the time of Luther. Francis' reaction was not to attack those he saw living lives of immorality and abuse, but to look at himself and to do his best to live, himself, according to the Gospel. The result was a great reform of the Church- clergy and laity, both.
Someone once said, "Christianity has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found difficult and not tried."
There are lots of serious problems in the Church today. The solution is simple: We Catholics must live according to Christ's gospel.
Francis of Assisi is worth reading about. My favorite book is "St. Francis of Assisi" by Johannes Jorgensen. G.K. Chesterton also wrote a good biography of Francis.

No, he doesn't.
Have you ever seen Father Fessio on EWTN? He is pretty impressive.

My students ask me, "Professor, what is the difference between Boston College and Franciscan University of Steubenville?" I tell them, "Well, Boston College is a Jesuit school, and Franciscan University is a Catholic school. The worst part is, some of them don't get it."--Peter Kreeft
As a BC alum, I get it. Ironically, it was the paganistic/libertine atmosphere at BC that drove me back into the arms of Mother Church. The Jesuits need a SERIOUS purging. Homos OUT!

Thats okay, because Americans feel Europeans are effete, degenerate and lazy. So you see the love is mutual...

"Someone once said, "Christianity has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found difficult and not tried." QUOTE OF THE YEAR!
Your illustration about St. Francis is absolutely correct IMHO. Thank you for posting those remarks...just super and on-target!

It's heartening to know that Ave Maria is in Ann Arbor. While there, I thought AA was a wretched hive of scum and villiany...
To: Notwithstanding
Yes, of course! Mea culpa!
