I think that's what should be done. Replace ALL Indian mascots with White mascots and see what they have to say about that.

Then the Indians will get mad that they are being ignored and demand that they be made mascots again. BTW, it must be only a small group of activists who get upset over Indians being mascots. I've never met any Indians who really care about this issue. Come to think of it, I've never met any Indians who call themselves "Native Americans." They either refer to themselves by their tribe or call themselves....Indians.

What's really stupid about them, is that it's really some college kids picking on the local high school. They probably didn't make the basketball team at Eaton High and are still p-o-ed about it. Grow up! It's no wonder they didn't see it coming, you couldn't have planned this, if you tried.

Your post #31 was really out in left field. Are you of the "Native American" persuasion? Or of the "Caucasian" persuasion?

I happen to be BOTH, and I can tell you that I am proud of both lines of ancestry; not only are they both noble, but the BOTH came from "common ancestors" -- Adam and Eve. And who (whom?) but you, is concerned with which direction they came from?

A few years ago the MSU college newspaper ran an article about the situation in South Africa. The article made repeated references to "African-American South Africans". I am not making this up.

How can art ever measure up to life?

As an American of Swiss heritage, I would be greatly honored if a college named its teams the "Fighting Swiss."

Would you settle for the Green Bay Packers (Swiss)Cheeseheads?

I am very good friends with several members of an Apache tribe that my company leased part of their land for overflight and weapons tests.

They prefer to be called by the name of their tribe or “Indian” if not specific.
