Simon Campaign Chairman Makes Plea for Help
Simon for Governor ^ | 03/22/02 | John Herrington

Posted on 03/22/2002 10:08:59 AM PST by Impeach98

I got this emailed to me. I thought it was pretty compelling - so let'd do it folks - let's rally and help this guy so we can get rid of Gray Davis.

.

JOHN HERRINGTON
CHAIRMAN -- SIMON FOR GOVERNOR

March 20, 2002

Dear Friends:

Thank you for all of the time and assistance you have provided the Simon for Governor campaign during the course of the past several months.

The victory we have achieved would not have been possible without the assistance of a great many individuals working together as a team. And now our team faces a new challenge -- unseating Gray Davis in November.

The pundits said there was no way our team would ever be successful in winning the nomination. But boy were they wrong.

Our victory was so spectacular it sent shockwaves around the world. Here are a few interesting links you should check out to see how the race was covered. You'll enjoy the last link the most as it reveals that we have already jumped to a lead over Gray Davis.

CNN on our victory

William F. Buckley Jr. wrote eloquently about Bill's win

Bill is even the Weekly Standard's cover story this week

Yahoo! and the Associated Press have a collection of photos from the election

*** Bill Simon has now surged ahead to a 7-percentage point lead! ***

And now as the Republican nominee we have the important mission of liberating California from the destructive rule of Gray Davis. If we are going to be successful in this effort we are going to need to work even harder than we did in the primary.

I consider you to be a valuable member of the Simon For Governor team and today I am designating you a Simon Victory Squad team member. As a Simon Victory Squad member you will lead the Simon effort in your own area and receive updates on the campaign and our strategy for victory. I am counting on you to provide our campaign with your own ideas and recommendations as the campaign heats up. You are the eyes and ears of our campaign and your contributions and observations will prove invaluable.

The first step we must take is to make sure we match Gray Davis for each and every dollar he puts into television and radio ads. We know that Davis already has close to $30 million ready to use to smear Bill Simon on radio and television. And we know that his liberal friends and special interest groups will be pouring millions of dollars more into his campaign.

That's why I need you to make a contribution right away to Bill's campaign. We need to be on the air first with a positive message about how we can get California back on the right track.

You can make a contribution right now via Bill Simon's website at the following address. Just click on the link and follow the instructions on the screen:

Click Here to Help Bill Simon Raise the $$$$ To Beat Gray Davis

Thank you again for all of your efforts in helping Bill to win the Republican nomination. This so much reminds me of the campaign in 1966 when we elected Ronald Reagan against all of the odds and conventional wisdom.

I am counting on you to continue helping Bill in this extremely important time in the history of California.

Thank you,

John Herrington
Chairman, Simon For Governor Campaign

P.S. Make your contribution as soon as possible -- every day makes a difference in this campaign:

If you haven't contributed STILL then do it - CLICK HERE

And be on the lookout in the coming weeks for a special Simon Victory Squad page with more information on how you can help steer the Bill Simon campaign in your own area.

Oh, Katherine Harris is a worthy investment. If for no other reason that despite all the mocking and ridicule she just kept doing her job. Last night on Politically Incorrect they were trying to say that the distraction of Monica Lewinsky (brought on by the media and conservatives) made it harder for Clinton to do his job - poor him.

Well, first Clinton brought it upon himself. And second, Katherine Harris proved a perfect counterpoint. She took the heat, and still cooly, calmly and with focus kept the election result certification process grounded in respect and decency.

Agreed; it's urgent that California remain hospitable to Conservatives.
There are already too many folks moving to Texas...

I'm a Texan, and this was my very first contribution to any campaign. My husband was annoyed--"California?!? What's this guy gonna do for you?" Well, if he wins, that means the RINO's all over the country will be shakin' in their boots. It means we can save the Republican party!

Luckily for me, I don't ask for much, and my husband just went out to have "a few beers" a couple of nights ago and spent almost fifty bucks. So he knows I'm entitled. :-)

I had three conversations with the Simon office just before the primary. They know how much support he has here on FR, however, they would not schedule him for 10 minutes on my FR radio show two days after the primary. I still support him, and in fact, had a Simon sticker on my shirt on television when I got to talk to the President at the town hall meeting in Ontario. It would have been nice if he would have given 10 minutes to the FReepers.

Yes that happens to me but today I'm having a different problem I've never had before. My start page indicates I have email but it won't download to my email program. I tried to access it from the Web and couldn't get it there either. I don't understand it.

Katherine Harris not only took the heat......she did a wonderful job for Florida and it's a shame that her position was removed from government. She accomplished a lot and the state owes her a tremendous debt. Talk about a role model for women........

I hope the treatment she received at the hands of our media didn't discourage other talented women from public service.

Thanks so much for contributing to Simon's campaign! What a patriot you are to send money to another state! That should put lots of California Republicans to shame! I am impressed!

GO SIMON!

I will contribute and help on the campaign also. Simon has to have all of California conservatives help. He has to win two fold, against Davis, and against massive Democrat election fraud!

I am by no means an expert on this, and it depends on your ISP (mine is Juno), but I have had problems like this on occasion, and it usually meant that there was some kind of glitch with the ISP's mailserver, possibly it went down and the rest of the ISP didn't, usually this goes away in less than a day. I hear there has been a problem with Yahoo mail, but I thought that was over yesterday.

Thanks, you're right. I called them (earthlink) and they indeed are having some problems today. That's good to know about Yahoo also. I receive things through them that may not be getting through.

I do also, but not most things. I have yet to receive an email sent today, everything I'm getting was sent on Thursday.
