I can only hope that you're correct - that reagardless of whether Israel has a 'smoking gun',Arafat is branded as the terrorist he is and we move on to dealing with others. I just hope we're not as slow to recognize their support for terrorism, should they choose that route.
Arafat's going to be toast. The Israelis will show Powell the stuff they got. Powell will get copies, and he will be the courier as he takes them to other nations. The Israelis got what they came for: The smoking gun memos.
The massage is going to be pretty clear. Arafat is toast, and is probably headed for exile in Morocco - as far from Israel and the holy cities as possible while still staying in the Arab world. There will be new Palestinean leadership, and they will be on notice.
