A Tennessee man who was wanted on more than 80 felony counts is in custody in Central Texas. Temple police and Federal Marshals took 60-year old Horace Hollis, into custody Wednesday afternoon. He was wanted on 40-counts of sexual battery and 40-counts of rape of a child. Authorities say he was traveling with a carnival. Marshals spotted him in the parking lot of Temple’s Colonial Mall. Crabtree amusements notified authorities after a routine background check turned up arrest warrants. Hollis will remain in custody in the Bell County Jail until extradition proceedings are complete

It would have been clearer if you had said "MAN ARRESTED IN TEMPLE, TEXAS IS WANTED ON 40-COUNTS OF CHILD RAPE" lest this also be falsely laid at the feet of Jews.  But going beyond that, had this occurred in Massachusetts or Oregon, they would likely have dressed him up and celebrated his free speech and perversity by making him Grand Marshal of a parade.

I'm wondering about a case we had here in NJ. A mother-who was not particularly attentive, and who may have been more interested in sex than the welfare of her child, took her son Timothy Wiltsey to a carnival in Sayreville, NJ. The child disappeared when the mother walked over to a refreshment stand to get ice cream.( Her version, anyway.)

Timothy's remains-pretty much skeletal be then- were finally found in a wetlands area near the Raritan River.

The Prosecutor's Office , perhaps because of the mother's lifestyle,strongly inferred the mother had killed the child-and that they just lacked enough evidence to charge her. The presence of a "boyfriend" who was a local area cop seemed to add grist to the mill; and,although the investigation was never officially closed, the police and prosecutors have only been interested in finding some way to hang the mother.

It would be interesting to learn the name of the carnival,how long the defendant has worked there, and whether this carnival is the same one that was in Sayreville, NJ when the child went missing.

I'm not an interested party, or involved in any investigation of the Wiltsey case; nut would appreciate any knowledgeable input from fellow Freepers. If there is some sort of link, I would probably forward it to the local newspapers first, and use their pressure to re-open the case.

I was a little confused by the wording too, until I remembered there was a city named Temple, and went so far as trying to remember where Temple University is located. The poster did, however, use the original headline as JimRob has requested. Maybe TEMPLE (TX)?

Yes, that would work.  The original article came from Texas so it was clear.  It isn't clear when reposted as above and I don't have a beef with the poster, just with the confusion.  I came to the thread because this is Passover week and my mind is full of things related such as "Temple."  I am pleased that this was posted showing that at least one predator has been apprehended.

hello, my name is trisha.
i am the neice of the man that is accused of the child rapes out of temple texas. i am the one partially responsible for his arrest. there are a lot of things not said that still needs to be said and some things said that are incorrect! you can go to the tennessee bureau of investigations, most wanted, and archive his name, horace edward hollis jr. and it will show he is facing 186 counts of child rape and 186 counts of child sexual battery and numerous felony charges rlating to income tax fraud ect...
we are still waiting on him to appeal his sentence in texas on the stolen weapons charge before he can be extradited to tennesse. you all need to know this man molested my 3 children back in 94-95. he was allowed bail and allowed to miss the roll call hearings here. while he was out on bail he was allowed to leave the state of south carolina un- supervised, a call in was required from time to time that's it, anyway while he was out on bail he was molesting children in tennessee, there is also speculation he molested kids at the carnival. as far as the carnival people turning him in after searching, they turned him in because i found out the name of the company he was working for and called the owner of the company and started asking questions about him as well as his son. he was always traveling with him and his 2 grandaughters. as it turns out the grandaughters are in protective custody, having been neglected and molested as well, they will never be mentally well! the kids in tennessee will suffer all their life and my son will never get over what has happened to him. the police here let this drag for 5 years, then aquitted on one charge dropped one charge and the had a hung jury for my son's trial. we were told we would get another trial, a year later, a letter came and said it was in the best interest of the children to not re-try the case, all was dismissed, i knew it was a mattter of time before he would hang himself. i don't know which children it was in the best interest of , but it wasn't mine! i can tell you this , this man has been molesting kids since before i was born, including myself and several other cousins, but was always allowed to get away with it. i made a promise to my son when they dismissed everything, i told him if it tookk my last breath, i would die making sure he spent his last breath in a prison! i know now he will die in prison.i think more people should be listening closer to todays children, everyone wonders how so many kids end up the wrong way, maybe it could be things are not the way they should be for the child, so dig in and get to the root of the child's problem, listen, watch and learn. kids can make a fool out of a million people! they can tell you about someone with out saying a word! i am a firm believer of an eye for an eye. i think this man should die like yesterday! but unfortunately, had i killed him when i had the chance, i would have orphaned 3 children. the good news from all this crap is, we have survived! i have 3 great kids who know right from wrong, and live each day of their life trying to do right and always trying to help others!horace(buddy)hollis may have taken some of the best years of mine and my kid's life but he didn't get the best of us!if any one would like to discuss this with me further you can e-mail me at teetee29488@yahoo.com

I don't see why early on in a child molestor's life that physical castration isn't offered to them --- a choice between life in prison or castration. They can't have a normal sex life but will always have that drive unless they're given the choice to eliminate that drive.

appreciate the replies folks. in answer to me calling myself "teetee", this is a nickname my little niece gave me when she was about 9 months old because she could not say "aunt trisha". i chose this name for my screen name when her mother moved away and we hadn't heard from them in a while, i figured if she ever got online to look for me using "teetee" was a good idea since that is what all the nieces and nephews call me !As it turns out she found me ! i don't even want to imagine where your line of thinking was!
