Barak's offer was fair in some ways. But it is hard to have a country that is riddled with armed jewish settlements and checkpoints. Israel does not believe there is a Palestine or ever will be. Barak's offer reflected this. Until settlements are actually destroyed and Israelis are relocated back to their country, there will be no peace.

I agree that the settlements must go. I believet he Barak plan invisioned the termination of the settlements as a future goal. But the Palis stomped their feet, demanded all-or-nothing, and marched away, without even making a counter-offer.

They don't want peace. They don't want a country. They don't want a normal life. They are breeding their children to be suicide bombers. They live to die. Except for the leaders, of course, who live to lord it over they oppressed masses within their own ranks.

The Palestinian flag was originally designed by Sharif Hussein for the Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire in 1916. In 1917, it was raised as the flag of the Arab National movement. On October 18, 1948, the all-Palestine Government readopted the flag in Gaza and the Arab League subsequently recognized it as the flag of the Palestinian people. It was again officially adopted as the flag of the Palestinian people by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1964. On November 15, 1988 the PLO adopted the flag as the flag of the State of Palestine. Today the flag is flown widely by Palestinians and their supporters.
