I know this isn't the thread for it, but did you hear a mob stormed the American Embassy in Bahrain today? We have a Naval and Air Base there. Installations critical to our security. I know Free Republic doesn't dwell on American interests and American lives much anymore but I thought I would bring it up in case anyone is interested.
Guess what, Larry: terrorism is a worldwide phenomenon. It has already gone biological, and will go nuclear in the blink of an historical eye. The world is interconnected and transportation/communication become better every year. We can't just crawl back into our collective shells, we must open our eyes.
OK, enough cliches - what does this mean? It means that there is linkage between what happens in Israel, what happened in NYC and Washington on 9/11, what happened in Iraq in 1990-91 and what will happen there sometime in the near future, and what happens elsewhere in the world. The common link is basically the radicalization of the Moslem faith, one which numbers around a billion people. They are spread throughout the world, and their collective anger and jealousy regarding the success of the West (I would say the dominance of the West) has resulted in a type of group psychosis. They have plenty of money, clerics willing (even eager) to stretch their faith to accomodate a radical agenda, lots of whore nations like France to sell them almost anything they want and dictators who need to start trouble abroad to maintain power at home. This is a combination that will lead to WW3. We had best learn to accept that rather sad and grisly fact, soon, if we hope to prevail. The next, or the next next, terrorist incident will involve tens or hundreds of thousands of deaths here, unless we wake up to the threat.
Just as in WW2, we need allies. Not the sort like Saudi Arabia that finance our enemies and feign indignation when we get bloodied, but real allies like Israel and England that are willing to spill blood alongside us to clean out the nest of snakes that would destroy our civilization. This is why we must be concerned with what happens in Israel, and why we must back up our only true ally in that part of the world. Personally, I think that Bush has come to the same realization, and is using some real crafty strategery to provide justification for a huge policy change in the near future. Arafat & Co. are going to hang themselves, and Bush just gave them a bunch of rope yesterday.
The events of the last couple of weeks are the opening rounds of a long fight. Pay attention, like we paid attention to Germany and Korea when the Soviets threatened the West. Open your eyes and your mind.

The people who send out these messages are the same kind of people that attacked America on 9/11! Read Osama's statement about his plans, they are quite the same as those of the PA. And remember: when the jihad against Israel is won, they will start one against us: the West!
