You could demand a full spectrum of tests before the marriage. Once upon a time a good number of states required by law that a couple intent on marriage be tested for VD and the results given to the participants. Some even required follow on tests some time into the marriage. As late as 1988, Pennsylvania definitely required tests before marriage.

BTW, my postulate assumes that BOTH spouses are chaste before marriage.
